Reposted Dave Fladd Ian and his girlfriend Jessica were home for Independence Day and I took them out for a quick morning fishing trip. This was Jessica's 2nd time fishing ever (the first was last Thanksgiving, which I posted about then). As the pics show, she got herself a pretty awesome brackish water slam in artificials with no help from us! Couldn't have scripted it better and smiles say it all. Hot baits were Z-Man Kicker CrabZ and Thick TrickZ rigged on TexasEye jigs of course. Sun came up, got hot, and the bite died along with it but we all had big smiles returning to the dock 😎

This time of year, the blue crabs molt - a.k.a. peeler crab season (delicious!). Well, redfish agree! Fished the Z-Man Kicker CrabZ on a TexasEye jig all day and tied for 1st but lost in the tiebreaker. Kicker CrabZ pair perfectly with a TexasEye jig and it makes for a very weedless rig with no missed hook-ups. Give them a try!
