2018 Summer League Sign Up

Sign up time is here for mens teams interested in playing in the North Canton Wood Bat League at Price Park. This league uses fumbleball rules and to the best of my knowledge is the only fumbleball league in existence anywhere. The league uses wood bats custom made for the league by Rob & Eric(both former fumbleballers themselves) at SabreCat bats in Louisville, OH. The ball being used is a DeBeer Clincher model F12. It is very similar to the CK12 fumbleball that was used in the area since the 1930's(same leather cover, same core). This is a competitive league playing doubleheaders on Tuesdays or Thursdays. The USA Softball Eastern League officiates the league and we utilize 2 umpires per game. League will be starting up in May and running through mid August. We offer a 21 game regular season and best of 3 playoffs for semi-finals and championship. This league also has a big distinction from other leagues in that we run the league ourselves. It is not run by the city's recreation department. I don't have to tell any of you that have been frustrated with the manner in how the rec leagues are run (or how conflicts are resolved) how much of a difference this makes. If the majority of teams/players want to change a rule, we change it. No red tape or administrative layer to go through. Please come out and join us this year and help us keep this great game alive in Stark County!

ATTENTION!
Anyone interested in playing in the wooden bat fumbleball league this summer at Price Park is invited to attend a league meeting being held this Sunday at Fox & Hound at 2pm. This meeting is for managers and players, whether already with a team or interested in joining an existing team. We will be discussing a variety of topics regarding the running of the league to determine schedule, nights played, specific rules, etc. You are invited to come and make suggestions and vote on your preferences. We are trying to set the league up so that it appeals to the majority of today's players. This is the only league around that you will find that is run by the players. We are not subjected to a recreation departments rules and the way that THEY want the league to be run. We can set up the league the way that WE want it to be. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity.
All I ask is that you send me a reply so that I can give Fox & Hound a heads up on the number of people planning to attend.
