Highs and lows for me at Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati during the last two rounds of RMC Americas my first ROTAX race at the national level.
I spent the first practice day learning the track, with the help of James Overbeck. It paid off, as I showed strong pace during the second practice day.
I had a few good moments both races days, gaining multiple positions early in the Prefinals and Finals, as well as putting in the best qualifying time in my group the second race day. But a combination of bad luck, mechanical problems, and setup & on track mistakes hurt my results.
Day 1:
Qualifying - P20 of 28
Pre-Final - P17
Final - P20
Day 2:
Qualifying - P11
Prefinal - P15
Final: P21
Many lessons learned, both off track and on track. I'll be ready for the next one.
A big thanks to James and Matt Overbeck for the help during our first practice day.
A special thank you to my season long partner, Campbell Automotive and Recreational Services, for coming down to Cincinnati to haul our truck back home after losing the ability to drive it safely due to an accident. Thanks to Ernest Harbaugh for getting me and my parents, our tools, and the kart home, as well. It would have been hard to stay focused on racing it if it wasn't for that level of support from each of you.
Thanks to my parents and my season long partners for making it possible for me to compete over the weekend:
