Red Sox promote LHP Jason Gilman 🚀The 16th-rounder (2025 draft, Kean Univ.) is headed from Low-A Salem to High-A Greenville. The NJ native — 2025 DIII National Pitcher of the Year — played for the Legends ⚾last summer before being drafted. He signed for $150K instead of heading to Ole Miss. This year with Salem: 2.91 ERA, 76 K in 55.2 IP (.188 avg against). Fastball up to 94 mph + curve + change. Second Day 2 pick from the class to make the jump (after Jacob Mayers). High-A debut likely this week vs. Hudson Valley. LGL!

Legends Baseball⚾️ Announces Return to the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League for 2027 Season.
Newark, NJ – August 11, 2026 – Legends Baseball is pleased to announce that the organization will return to the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League (ABCCL) for the 2027 summer season. The decision comes after careful evaluation of the program’s future direction. Legends Baseball previously competed with distinction in the ABCCL and looks forward to rejoining the league where the organization has deep roots and strong relationships. “After thoughtful consideration, we are excited to return to the ABCCL in 2027,” said Tony Santomauro, Owner and General Manager of Legends Baseball. “The league has always provided an outstanding environment for player development, competitive baseball, professional league management and community connection. We are eager to build on our past success and continue developing the next generation of collegiate talent." Over its most recent three seasons, Legends Baseball compiled a strong overall record of 55-30-3 while competing at a high level. The organization remains committed to excellence both on and off the field and will continue its year-round training and instruction programs through Legends Baseball Instruction. Additional details regarding the 2027 roster, coaching staff, schedule will be released in the coming months. hris Vaughan had a monster ☠️performance for the Essex Legends ⚾️in their game against the NJ Sugar Kings on Saturday, June 27. The 6'4" right-handed hitter from Madison HS and Lafayette College commit went 3-for-5 with two home runs, 3 RBI, and 3 runs scored. Vaughan powered the Legends’ offense with two massive home runs and was a constant threat every time he stepped to the plate. His explosive🧨 day at the plate was a major factor in the Essex Legends’ 19-0 victory over the Sugar Kings. Vaughan’s power 💪display continues to highlight why he’s one of the top young talents in the ACBL this season.

Dan Calatropio Named ACBL Pitcher of the Week

South Amboy, NJ (June 2026) – The Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL) has named Essex Legends right-handed pitcher Dan Calantropio as Pitcher of the Week for his dominant performance in Game 1 of Tuesday, June 16 doubleheader.
The Boonton, NJ native and Stevens Institute of Technology freshman delivered a standout outing, pitching 6 strong innings in a 7-0 shutout victory over the NJ Sugar Kings. Calantropio allowed just 3 soft-contact hits, struck out 6 batters, and showed excellent command throughout. He displayed toughness by wanting to finish the 7th inning and was backed by the Legends’ usual strong defense.
This performance highlighted Calatropio’s competitiveness and reliability as a key contributor for the Essex Legends in the 2026 ACBL season.

🧰 LEGENDS⚾ WIN FIRST GAME OF THE 2026 SEASON! The Legends opened the year with a big victory this past Saturday in Old Bridge, NJ! On the mound, strong pitching carried the day: Starter Zach Taylor (Fair Lawn, NJ / Endicott College) delivered a solid outing in his return.
Followed by Pablo Santos (Jersey City, NJ) and an Elon commit who tossed a scoreless inning in relief.
Closer Jack Veith (Franklin, NJ / Wilkes University) slammed the door🔒 with two scoreless innings.
Veith, a two-way player, is expected to contribute big on both the mound and in the field this season. Offensively, Michael Bravette (West Caldwell, NJ / George Washington University) led the way with 3 hits, 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases. Great team effort for the first W! Let’s keep rolling!
