The squad had a big weekend out at the 24th Annual Music City Festival in Chattanooga, TN. In total, sixteen athletes from the GSTC pro team competed while staying at the “Mountainside Manor” AirBnB just outside the facility.
The women’s 400m was the event highlight with Sara Reifenrath (52.16), Piper Jons (52.35), and Corrssia Perry (53.28) going 5th, 6th, and 9th, respectively. Reifenrath broke the club record set just one month prior by Jons.
E’Lexis Hollis was the lone event winner as her 11.22 won the women’s 100m.
Other impressive podium finishes included Noah Langford (50.87, 2nd, 400h), Aislinn McElhaney (20-5, 2nd, LJ), and Shane Streich (3:39.82, 3rd, 1500m) while hurdlers Evonne Britton (12.93, 4th, 100h) and Arianna Smith (56.40, 4th, 400h) both finished 4th.
Britton’s 12.93 shatters her own club record and is the first time any GSTC athlete has broken 13.0 in the women’s high hurdles.
Other competing GSTC athletes included Mason Phillips (10.49, 21.21), Nigel Green (10.28), hurdler Yasmeen Tinsley (11.71, 13.36), James Schmidt (3:56.74), Evan Mafilas (46.65), and hurdler Haley Brenny (60.35).
