Avant Garde Ballroom, the premier ballroom dance studio in the Bethesda area, offers a state-of-the- area, where our goal is to make you feel special.

Welcome to Avant Garde Ballroom, the premier dance studio in the D.C. Our dance studio is contemporary class and elegance at its best with floor-to-ceiling beveled mirrors and top-of-the-line sprung floors to reduce injuries and minimize fatigue. Step inside and you will sense the friendly, professional atmosphere of our staff and our dance teachers. We have dance lessons for everyone, from the ne

rvous beginner, to the social dancer, wedding couple, school-ager, to the competitive dancer eager to bring home medals. We take pride in the expertise of our dance professionals. They can explain each step and will help you understand the importance of style, posture, and physical conditioning. They are compassionate, patient, encouraging, and dedicated with one goal in mind - to teach you to dance and have fun too!

The ripple effect of small businesses closing because of this pandemic has reached Avant Garde.

It is with deepest regret to inform our dear students and friends that we will not be in a capacity to re-open. It has been an awesome wild ride these past 8 years.

Please continue your ballroom dance journey with your teachers. Continue to develop your love for dance as you work on your technique, creativity, self- expression, strength and flexibility.

We thank everyone who has at one time or another stepped into our beautiful Avant Garde studio. We have created memories that will last a life-time.

🌐The most unusual International Dance Day in history - in 2020! April 29th is a holiday that unites all those who care about dance world.

🌐International Dance Day was established more then 35 years ago, but this year it takes place in the most unusual format around the world.

🌐Today we can’t go to dance studio or go to the competition. Right now, in 2020, most of the dancers in the world are self isolated. But it helps lots of people to keep the spirit up even if the classes are held online. Those who love to dance truly remain true to it even in such difficult situation.

🌐Today is a great opportunity to cheer up and support everyone with whom our dance life continues to be busy even on self isolation, and thanks to whom it will become even brighter when the pandemic is over.
