HBYC is located at the beautiful Herrington Harbour Marinas located on Herring Bay on Chesapeake Bay in Friendship, Maryland. We are a fun loving group of power boaters and sail boaters, dedicated to enjoying the pleasures of boating on the Chesapeake. We are a social and yachting society of both power and sailboats. We have many social events and cruises throughout the area's waters. We schedule

cruises to popular destinations with a group of club members. On long cruises, which many folks would never do on their own, it is a nice feeling to look over to the boat next to you and know you have a friend taking the trip with you.

Opening Day at Herring Bay Yacht Club 🛥️⚓️⛵️

What a great way to kick off the boating season!

Members gathered for our Opening Day celebration featuring waterfront views, live music, great food, and plenty of conversation with old friends and new members alike. As the sun set over the Bay, it was a reminder of what makes HBYC special-an active boating community that enjoys spending time together both on and off the water.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store.

One of the best parts of HBYC is how easy it is to meet people.

Recently, our Membership Committee hosted a New Member Happy Hour aboard PJ and Lori’s beautiful boat, giving new and longtime members a chance to relax, share stories, and make connections before the season gets fully underway.

Whether you’ve been boating for decades or just purchased your first boat, you’ll find a welcoming group of people who enjoy spending time on the water and with each other.

🦀 HBYC Fall Feast Recap! 🍂

What a night! Our annual Fall Feast on September 14th was truly the event of the year. Members gathered at HHS’s West Beach to indulge in four bushels of perfectly steamed crabs, along with delicious chicken, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, and some sweet desserts to top it all off. 🦀🍗🌽

The signature bourbon and vodka mules were flowing, and the live tunes from the Mac Heat Band kept everyone dancing throughout the night. 🎶💃 To cap it all off, we ended the evening around a cozy bonfire, swapping stories and enjoying the cool autumn air. 🔥

The turnout was fantastic, and we were thrilled to see so many members come together to celebrate. It was truly a night to remember!

🚤 HBYC Dock-Go-Round & Pizza Party Recap! 🍕

What an incredible turnout at our Dock-Go-Round event on August 24th! Over 30 members and guests joined in for a unique opportunity to tour three different styles of boats while enjoying signature cocktails and appetizers at each stop. 🍹🧀 A huge thank you to the Warwicks, the Forellas, and the Leighs for opening up their boats and hosting such a fun experience!

It was quite a sight to see everyone moving along the docks, hopping aboard to explore each vessel, and grabbing a raffle ticket at every stop. 🎟️ Each ticket entered you into our grand prize raffle – adding a dash of excitement to the evening!

After the boat tours, we all headed to the clubhouse for a pizza party filled with delicious slices, desserts, and great company. 🍕🍰 The night was full of laughter, fun, and new friendships, showcasing the spirit of our wonderful community.
