Please join us in congratulating Coach Ray Sturdy on being named the new North Attleboro Wrestling Head Coach!❤️🤍

A true Rocketeer, Coach Sturdy is a 2009 North Attleboro High School graduate and former North wrestler. During his senior year, he was honored with the NFHS/MIAA Award of Excellence for sportsmanship, ethics and integrity, and received the Wrestling Coaches Award for “Always Trying to Do the Right Thing.”
After North, Ray continued his wrestling career at Springfield College from 2009–2013, where he was also named to the Dean’s List in 2012 and 2013.
But his commitment to wrestling didn’t stop there. Starting out as a volunteer helper in 2014 and moving into assistant coach in 2016 Ray has helped build a winning culture and has already been part of an incredible list of accomplishments:
🏆 2x State Championships
🏆 6x Sectional Championships
🏆 Multiple Hockomock League Championships
🏆 Coached a 2x State Champion
🏆 Coached an All-State Champion
🏆 Coached a New England Champion — Mateusz Kudra

Most importantly, Coach Sturdy understands what it means to be a Rocketeer. He knows the tradition, the values, the expectations, and the pride that come with wearing the Big Red singlet ♥️
We are incredibly excited to welcome Ray into head coaching North Attleboro Wrestling and look forward to seeing him lead our wrestlers both on and off the mat.

Happy Birthday to former North Attleboro head coach, Geoff Burgess!

Before becoming head coach, Burgess was named 2018 Division II Assistant Coach of the Year. Burgess helped lead North Attleboro to two state titles and a number of sectional championships. In 2019, Burgess was named Division II South Sectional Coach of the Year, after leading North Attleboro to their 19th sectional championship, with 10 place winners and six champions. Burgess was named athletic director at North Attleboro High School in 2026.

We are pleased to announce the upcoming elections for the 2026-2027 Massachusetts Wrestling Association Board. There are three positions open for election this year, and we encourage all eligible members to participate in this important process.

Elections: 8/24-8/31

Board Member Responsibilities:

Attendance at Meetings: Board members are expected to attend regular meetings to discuss and make decisions on key issues affecting the association and the wrestling community.
Planning and Ex*****on of the Folkstyle State Tournament Series: This includes organizing and overseeing the state tournaments, ensuring that they run smoothly and meet the standards of excellence we strive for.
Spring/Olympic Tournament & National Teams: Board members will also be responsible for the successful planning and ex*****on of our spring and Olympic-style tournaments, as well as coordinating and managing our national teams.

Serving on the board is a rewarding experience and a great opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of wrestling in Massachusetts. If you are passionate about the sport and have the time and energy to devote to these responsibilities, we encourage you to run for one of the open positions.
