I began Quilts by Kristy in 2010 with the ultimate goal of being a stay-at-home parent while still providing an income for our family. What started as a small endeavor has grown into a wonderfully busy business though a lot of hard work and the recommendations of my loyal clients. Each day I am able to work on beautiful quilts and return them to clients who are always so happy to see the finished

product; I couldn't ask for a better job! Quilts by Kristy provides longarm quilting services on two Gammill Statler Stitchers. This means that patterns are digital, and therefore the quality of my quilting is very consistent. As a science teacher by trade, I am very meticulous, and that is reflected in my work. Conversely, I rarely do freehand work because I dislike the unpredictability of the stitching. Both of my machines can fit quilts with a width of 120" or less (there is no limit to the length). At this point, I am no longer creating any T-shirt quilts or doing custom quilting; these types of services require too much time away from my family. Always feel free to email, call, or text with questions you have regarding a quilt; we can work together to pick out the perfect pattern and thread to finish your special project.

📦 A happy mail day for Sadie! These beautiful quilts arrived this week, each showcasing a different style, fabric collection, and quilting design. It’s always a treat to see how quilting can completely change the personality of a quilt!

The first quilt is Sonnet, a lovely design featuring soft greens, florals, and delicate piecing. To complement its timeless look, Sadie chose a classic stipple quilting pattern. The gentle texture adds movement without competing with the piecing, giving the quilt that cozy, traditional “quilty” feel we all love.

Next up are two versions of the same striking triangle quilt, each transformed by a different quilting choice. The first is quilted in Fable with a pale teal thread, creating a soft, whimsical texture that adds just enough movement while letting the vibrant fabrics shine. The second features Happy Flowers quilted in a bold purple thread, bringing a playful pop of personality and making the quilting itself part of the design. It’s always fun to see how different quilting patterns can completely change the look of the same quilt!

Last is Adventureland, a cheerful quilt full of sweet pastel prints and playful angles. It’s quilted in Knit One Purl Two, a pattern that adds wonderful texture and perfectly complements the cozy, handmade feel of the design.

This sweet little quilt by Sabrina is headed to a very special recipient: a friend of her daughter who is welcoming a new baby!

Made using the Baby Cuddles pattern, this quilt combines soft, cozy colors with a charming patchwork design that feels both classic and playful. The dusty rose, sage green, golden yellow, and rich brown fabrics come together beautifully, creating a quilt that will be treasured through snuggles, story times, and nap times.

For quilting, Sabrina chose April Rose, a lovely floral design that adds gentle texture and movement across the entire quilt.

And the backing is just as adorable as the front, featuring a delicate pink floral print that pairs beautifully with the rose-inspired quilting.

Congratulations to the growing family, and what a thoughtful gift from Sabrina to celebrate this new little one!

This bright and playful quilt was pieced by a client’s granddaughter, Arabella, and it is full of personality! From shoes and handbags to butterflies and lipstick prints, every fabric brings a fun little surprise.

We quilted it in Forever Daisies, which adds the sweetest floral texture across all the bold colors and whimsical prints.

And can we talk about that butterfly backing? The oversized butterflies paired with the daisy quilting make the back just as fun as the front.

Pat’s Liberty Bell quilt is a beautiful blend of patriotic charm and timeless design. 🇺🇸 The pieced stars framing the quilt add so much movement and color, while the Liberty Bell centerpiece gives it such a classic Americana feel.

We quilted this one in Diagonal Plaid, which was the perfect complement to the geometric piecing and vintage-inspired fabrics. The texture adds wonderful dimension without taking away from all the detailed patchwork.

And the backing is such a meaningful finishing touch: a Declaration of Independence print that ties the entire patriotic theme together perfectly. ❤️🤍

This client brought two very different quilts to life, each with its own special story.

The first quilt uses the free Moda pattern 3 At a Time and is full of rich batik color and movement. She shared that the jelly roll was a gift from a friend. Her friend bought one for herself too, so they’re each creating a completely different quilt from the same fabric collection. Such a fun quilting friendship idea! We quilted this one in Cold Fusion, which adds beautiful flowing texture across all those colorful pieced blocks.

The second quilt is a soft and elegant Double Irish Chain from Red Door Designs, made as a wedding gift for a friend. The subtle sage and cream fabrics give it such a timeless feel, and Acadia Feather was the perfect quilting choice to add graceful texture and movement throughout. The newspaper backing is such a unique finishing touch too. 🤍

Marilyn’s quilt is bursting with cheerful vintage florals and happy color! The stars really pop against the crisp white background, and that floral border ties everything together so beautifully.

She chose cozy white minky for the backing, and we quilted it in Whole Lotta Hearts for the perfect soft-and-sweet finish. The heart design adds so much texture and warmth, especially on that minky backing. đź’•

Denise’s Barnstable Sampler quilt is such a fun mix of classic piecing and subtle fantasy flair! The cool aqua, teal, and lavender palette gives it a soft, icy feel, while the dragon fabrics tucked throughout the blocks add the perfect unexpected detail.

We quilted it in Loop the Loop in pale teal to bring gentle movement and texture across all of the intricate piecing without overpowering the design. This one feels both elegant and a little magical!

This cheerful pinwheel quilt by Pat is full of sweet vintage charm and happy color! The navy lattice gives each pinwheel room to shine, while the soft pastel fabrics keep the whole quilt feeling light and playful.

We quilted it in Windswept, which adds gentle movement across the quilt and makes the pinwheels feel like they’re spinning in a soft breeze. Such a lovely combination of classic piecing and graceful texture!

Andrea dropped off two beautiful Christmas quilts that are full of holiday charm!

Bringing Home the Christmas Tree features vintage cars loaded up with fresh-cut Christmas trees, surrounded by snowy evergreens and festive prints. We quilted it in Snowflake Fun to add playful winter texture across the entire quilt.

Her second quilt, Peppermint Frost, combines classic red and gray holiday fabrics with intricate piecing that looks like a cozy Christmas village tucked beneath sparkling snowflakes. Oodles of Doodles was the perfect quilting choice to add soft movement and texture without taking away from all of Andrea’s beautiful piecing.

These quilts feel like Christmas in quilt form!

Suzette created this striking western-themed quilt full of cowboy charm and beautiful scenic fabrics! She pieced it using the pattern Riders on the Range by Danhui Nai using Wilmington prints. From the detailed horse and rider centerpiece to the coordinating borders and playful backing fabric, every detail works together perfectly.

We quilted it in Hats and Boots, a design that was made for a quilt like this. The western motifs add movement and personality across the open spaces while complementing the rope, horse, and cowboy fabrics throughout the quilt. Such a fun project with a true western spirit!
