Part 2: This past Saturday was truly a blessing. I had the opportunity to represent Fitness Ju**ie and serve my community during a church community “The Village” outreach event in Portsmouth, Virginia.
What made this event special was seeing people stop by who weren’t even planning to attend. Some were simply driving past, saw the excitement, and decided to join in. The atmosphere was filled with love, support, and people helping people.
The church provided free clothing, furniture, hygiene items, and so many other resources for families in need. I was honored to contribute by teaching on health and wellness.
I spoke about the importance of staying hydrated, especially as temperatures continue to rise. We discussed why water intake is essential and how electrolytes help replenish the body after sweating, exercising, and spending time outdoors. I also shared information on proper nutrition, stretching, recovery, and the role that protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats play in supporting overall health and daily performance.
My goal was simple: help people understand that taking care of their bodies doesn’t have to be complicated. Small daily habits—drinking more water, moving your body, stretching regularly, and making better food choices—can create life-changing results over time.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, listened, participated, and showed love. Community events like this remind me that fitness is bigger than the gym. It’s about education, empowerment, and helping people become the best version of themselves.
