Svadhyaya, or loosely translated as a study of self, is not unique nor limited to the east or Yoga philosophy. Many philosophies, philosophers poets and authors from all over the world expand on this concept. Voiceover from Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass a few lines from "song of myself"
