In a valiant attempt to overcome an astonishing 7-run first inning, Central Maui Little League fell to the Latin America team, from Venezuela, in the World Series Championship game.

Francys Sandoval, from Venezuela, pitched an outstanding 4 and a third innings, holding the West team to just two runs, giving her team a 12-2 lead before she was taken out in the 5th, where the West team earned an additional 5 runs to make it exciting.

Yes, you read that correctly, I said "her team". The starting pitcher for Venezuela was one of the two girls in the World Series. was on display at the Intermediate 50/70 World Series.

It was an excellent run, boys, with a 3-1 record; you did well. Thank you for representing the West in the World Series. We look forward to hosting Central Maui again in the future.

Travel safely back to Hawaii.

For all of you who were not fortunate enough to be at the fields, or monitoring GameChanger in between meetings (like I was), spoiler alert!

Game 29, the Championship Game, of the West Regional Intermediate 50-70 Baseball Tournament has come to an end, with what can only be described as a pitchers duel.
- (S. California) Scripps Ranch Little League: 1

You read that correctly, Hawaii will be moving on to represent the West in the World Series in Livermore, CA. Their next game is Monday the 28th, at 7:00 PM Pacific Time.

The semifinal games were played tonight.

Both California teams played an amazing game, going into the 8th inning with the tie breaker, where S. California was able to capitalize on a missed play and pull out the win.
Game 27: F/8
- (S. California) Scripps Ranch Little League: 6
- (N. California) Mark West Little League: 1

The Host team established an early lead, with Hawaii battling from behind, when their hitting carried them through an incredible two out rally in the 3rd, flipping the score and then some.
Game 28: F/7
- (Hawaii) Central Maui Little League: 12
- (Host) Nogales Little League: 2

Tomorrow morning will see Hawaii taking on S. California at 9 AM on Field 1. Good luck teams!

This is the last evening for Baseball out here, though not the last games. I know what you're thinking, there isn't any of that Almost Famous Carne Asada in the picture. Sadly, you're correct. None tonight, though there are other concessions.

The semifinal games have just gotten under way. Good luck to all the teams:
On Field 1:
(N. California) Mark West Little League
(S. California) Scripps Ranch Little League

On Field 2 (with me):
(Hawaii) Central Maui Little League
(Host) Nogales Little League

I want to apologize for the confusion regarding which game was being played when and on what field with today's games. As a mea culpa, I'm providing more evidence that the Almost Famous Carne Asada tacos are just as stupendous tonight as they have been since the start of the tournament. They also have birria tonight, which is difficult to pass up.

The first two games have concluded, here are the results:

Game 23 was played on Field 1
- (S. California) Scripps Ranch Little League: 16
- (Washington) Queen Anne Little League: 0

Game 25 was played on Field 2
- (N. California) Mark West Little League: 14
- (Colorado) Dry Creek Little League Baseball: 0

Thank you Colorado and Washington for coming out to Nogales.

The California teams will face each other tomorrow at 5 PM.

In just under an hour, we will be starting Games 24 and 26

Game 24 on Field 1
- (Hawaii) Central Maui Little League
- (Arizona) High Desert Little League

Game 26 on Field 2
- (Host) Nogales Little League
- (Alaska) Dimond West Little League
