The final score is in with the Little League Intermediate Baseball World Series Championship game

Granada-Livermore Little League, representing the West Region as the US Champions faced Seoul, representing the Asia-Pacific Region, fell to the International Champions 4-11.

We love being able to be part of the journey, and story, those young players will be able to tell for the rest of their lives. They should be holding their heads high, for it was an incredible journey.

For those of you still watching, our West Region Champions, who became the US Champions, are going for all of it today against the International Champions (Asia-Pacific Region) tonight at 6 PM Pacific Time.

What an exiting finish to the Championship Game, just as Southern California was mounting their come back, Northern California turned a tidy double play to end it.

Congratulations to Granada Little League on an exciting win. We will be rooting for you at the World Series.

As to the Moorpark Little League team, you had an outstanding tournament. Well played, and have a safe journey home.

Thank you City of Nogales, Arizona, Nogales Little League, and Arizona District 8 Little League Baseball and Softball for hosting. We look forward to resetting and doing all of this over again next year.

The results are in from the semifinals, and all we can say is, "wow". Two very close games played by four outstanding teams.

Game 27:
Central Maui: 3
Granada: 4

Game 28:
Southwest Ada: 2
Moorpark: 7

In the battle for the West, it will be S. California (Moorpark Little League) facing N. California (Granada Little League), who will be the Home team, at 10 am on Field 1. Each team will be vying for the coveted spot in Livermore, CA at the Intermediate 50/70 World Series.

Unfortunately, that means that we wish both Hawai'i (Central Maui Little League) and Idaho (Southwest Ada Little League) aloha on their return home, and a giant thanks for them coming down in the first place.

The quarterfinals are in the books, meaning there are only four teams left in the competition, and we are down to only two games in the semifinals.

Today's scheduled games are both set for 6 PM:
Game 27 on Field 1:
(2) Central Maui Little League vs (6) Granada Little League (home)

Game 28 on Field 2:
(4) Moorpark Little League vs (1) Southwest Ada Little League (home)

In an interesting twist of fate, while Game 27 is a rematch of Game 22 from Monday, Idaho and S. California have not faced each other during pool play.

That means that we say farewell and thank you to the teams from Alaska (Abbott O'Rabbit Little League), Arizona (Marana Little League and Nogales Little League), and Colorado (Northern Lights Little League). It took a lot to get to the quarterfinals, and regardless of the outcome, it represents a job well done. We look forward to seeing your leagues again in the future.

Mother Nature... she had alternate plans for the games being played as a significant storm rolled through both Cochise and Santa Cruz counties.

Games 19 and 20 were able to be completed, while games 21 and 22 had to be suspended and will resume sometime today.

The Championship bracket is still scheduled to begin today, after those suspended games have concluded.

We had two very close games that went all the way, and two run rule games.
