Summer Snack đ
Technically weâre still in the spring, or Kapha season. However, we are also in whatâs called ritu sandhi (seasonal junction). We are on the cusp of pitta season where itâs much hotter, more humid, and often our emotions follow our environment.
We may get hangry, short tempered, irritable, sharp, etc if we start feeling imbalanced. Thatâs why itâs important to eat with the seasons and begin to support ourselves through diet and lifestyle changes.
This recipe can be adapted - you could add some other cooling Ayurvedic herbs, different spices, varied quantities of ingredients. Make it however you like it (:
For this recipe, I didnât measure anything. I just wanted it to be tasty and stick together, so I tasted as I went and added more coconut oil if it needed the moisture.
With the heat and sharpness of the upcoming pitta season, the dates, vanilla, cardamom, coconut oil, and rose all help to internally cool us while supporting digestion.
Hope you try them and enjoy them!

đdates
đcashews
đcoconut oil
đvanilla extract
đpink salt
To make them, grind cashews, oats, and strawbs, cardamom, rose, and a pinch of pink salt in a food processor. Remove and set aside. Next blend 5-6 pitted dates + coconut oil + vanilla. Once everything is relatively smooth, you can add the dry ingredients back in and pulse til it all comes together. Roll into balls and enjoy. They arenât pretty, but they taste great đ
