🥋 GAME DAY RECAP: CITIZENSHIP! 🥋

What a awesome first Game Day! 🎉

Today our kids traded regular class for an afternoon of games, laughter, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun as we celebrated the completion of our Citizenship character development chapter!

Over the past several weeks, our students have been learning that being a great martial artist extends far beyond what happens on the mats. Citizenship means looking for ways to help, taking care of the places and people around us, doing our part without always being asked, and recognizing that each of us can make our family, school, academy, and community a little better.

And they put in the work! 💪

Every completed character sheet represented real choices these kids made outside of jiu-jitsu to practice what we’ve been talking about in class. That is something worth celebrating.

Today was their reward, and judging by the smiles, laughs, and absolute chaos on the mats… we’d say they celebrated pretty well. 😂

A huge thank you to our parents for partnering with us and encouraging these lessons at home. Jiu-jitsu gives us an incredible opportunity to help kids become more confident and capable, and we’re equally proud of the kind of people they are becoming along the way.

Congratulations to all of our Game Day kids! 🥋⭐

September is almost here! Changes to have an eye out for:

Little Warriors is now "Mat Munchkins" for ages 3-5, and will include parent participation. This class is now being offered Sunday 4:15pm-4:45pm.

Warrior Kids is now for ages 5-7, and offered Wednesday and Thursday 5:30-6:20.

All other classes will remain the same.

Later this month we will also begin changing our branding over from "The Path" to "Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Nine Mile Falls"!!!! More exciting changes to come with the rebranding.

This is the tenative schedule for August. There may be a change to the Game Day times. If so, I'll update everyone by Monday 8/3.

Also, you may have noticed that in my bar prep haze I managed to forget that July has 31 days. Oy! Yes, we have normal classes today. Sorry for any confusion, and thank you all for your patience and understanding while we worked our way through the craziness of July.

🇺🇸 July Schedule Notes 🇺🇸

✨Big News at The Path
We have officially doubled our mat space, giving our students more room to train, move, and grow and have brand new mats arriving at the end of the month!

✨NEW: Bullyproof & Character Development Progam
We are also excited to introduce the Bullyproof program for ages 5–11. This program helps kids build confidence, awareness, verbal assertiveness, and practical self-defense skills without teaching punches or kicks.
The program also includes the Character Development Program, where students work on important traits like responsibility, health, respect, citizenship, manners, and caring. During class, kids learn how to “activate” these traits in real life, and parents help track their progress at home.

Every two months, students can participate in Game Day, where they are recognized for their character growth and can earn patches for their gi.

This is exactly what we want for our kids at The Path: confident, respectful, capable students who know how to stand up for themselves without becoming bullies themselves.

✨ Saturday, July 4 | Vendor Fair
Come see us this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the vendor fair. Stop by our booth, say hello, ask questions, learn more about the new programs, and bring a friend who has been thinking about trying jiu-jitsu.

✨ July 15–19 | Gym Closed
The gym will be closed July 15–19 while our coaches are in California and Jeff completes our gym's Gracie Certification!

✨ Last Week of July | Kids Class Schedule Update
Little Warriors and Warrior Kids classes will be rescheduled during the last week of July while Coach Andrea studies for and takes the bar exam. Additional make up classes will be scheduled in August.
