Now that a week has passed since the 2026 Great Lakes Multigun Championship, and I've had a chance to catch my breath, get some sleep, and reflect on everything, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you.
First and foremost, thank you to every sponsor, staff member, RO, volunteer, and competitor who helped make this match possible. Putting on an event of this size takes an incredible amount of work, and it simply would not have happened without all of you.
From everything we've seen so far, the overwhelming majority of competitors had a great time. We've shared the post-match survey, and the feedback has been extremely positive. We've also received constructive criticism, which is exactly what we were hoping for. Our match team is reviewing every single response—good and bad. We'll discuss it all, learn from it, and make the necessary improvements for next year.
I know we'll never be able to make everyone happy, but we'll always do our best to make the Great Lakes Multigun Championship the best match we can.
One of the most common suggestions was to add more targets. I completely agree. This year, we literally had every target the club owns on the ground, along with my personal target inventory, Mark Tacosik's targets, and targets borrowed from other clubs. If we need to borrow even more next year to build bigger and more exciting stages, that's exactly what we'll do.
On a personal note, this was my first time directing anything larger than a monthly club match. It was definitely a challenge, but I was fortunate to have some incredible people around me who were always willing to answer questions, offer advice, and help whenever needed. I couldn't have done it without you, and I'm extremely proud of how the match turned out.
I also want to give a special thank you to Black Arsenal and every one of our sponsors. You all stepped up in a huge way. Everyone always hopes for an even bigger prize table, but I couldn't be more grateful for the generosity and support we received. Based on the feedback we've gotten, it sounds like the competitors appreciated it as much as we did.
Thank you all again for making the return of the Great Lakes Multigun Championship such a success. We're already looking at ways to make 2027 even better.
If you haven't filled out the survey yet, please take a few minutes to do so. Your feedback truly helps shape the future of this match. And don't forget—if you include your name, you'll be entered for a chance to win one of the Reunion tumblers!
We can't wait to see everyone back on the range next year!
