Fallon Rist A Difficult Out As Nickerson Varsity Panthers Defeat Inman Varsity Teutons in Game 2

Fallon Rist collected three hits in four at bats, as Nickerson Varsity Panthers defeated Inman Varsity Teutons 11-2 on Tuesday. Rist doubled in the first inning, doubled in the sixth inning, and singled in the third inning.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Rist doubled, scoring two runs, and Easton Clifford singled, scoring one run.

Rist earned the win for Nickerson Varsity Panthers. The pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none. Korbyn McClellan took the loss for Inman Varsity Teutons. The right-handed pitcher went two innings, giving up four runs on four hits, striking out one and walking five. Corbin Shelton stepped on the bump first for Nickerson Varsity Panthers. The hurler gave up five hits and two runs over three innings, striking out one and walking none. Braxton Malloy started the game for Inman Varsity Teutons. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking four.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers amassed nine hits in the game. Dale Smith, Clifford, and Rist each drove in two runs for Nickerson Varsity Panthers. Shelton and Chase Welch each collected multiple hits for Nickerson Varsity Panthers. Rylan Morrell led Nickerson Varsity Panthers with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 12 walks for the game. Shelton stole two bases. Nickerson Varsity Panthers turned one double play in the game.

Jayce Jennings and Cooper Moffit each collected two hits for Inman Varsity Teutons.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers will travel to Larned Varsity Indians for their next game on Friday.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers Falls To Inman Varsity Teutons In Low-Scoring Affair in Game 1

Both teams were strong on the mound on Tuesday, but Inman Varsity Teutons was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 1-0 victory over Nickerson Varsity Panthers. Riley Brawner started the game for Nickerson Varsity Panthers and recorded 18 outs.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers lost despite out-hitting Inman Varsity Teutons seven to five. Corbin Shelton and Chase Welch each collected two hits for Nickerson Varsity Panthers.

Inman Varsity Teutons were the first to get on the board in the fourth when one run scored on another play.

Dalton Priddy earned the win for Inman Varsity Teutons. The hurler surrendered seven hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Brawner took the loss for Nickerson Varsity Panthers. The pitcher went six innings, giving up one run on five hits, striking out one and walking two.

Shelton stole two bases. Nickerson Varsity Panthers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Shelton had the most chances in the field with five.

Inman Varsity Teutons's Kash Schierling, the number seven hitter, led Inman Varsity Teutons with two hits in two at bats.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers’s Fallon Rist Powers Through Hillsboro Varsity Trojans in Game 2

Fallon Rist hit two home runs and drove in five as Nickerson Varsity Panthers defeated Hillsboro Varsity Trojans 10-9 on Friday. Rist homered in the fourth and sixth innings.

Despite falling down by four runs in the first inning, Hillsboro Varsity Trojans tried to fight back. Hillsboro Varsity Trojans closed the gap by scoring on a ground out, a double, a double, a triple, a double, and a ground out.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Rist doubled, scoring two runs, Brody Newman singled, scoring one run, and Chase Welch doubled, scoring one run.

Hillsboro Varsity Trojans flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on six hits to take the lead, 5-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Zayne Haslett that drove in two.

A triple by Dalton Philpott extended the Hillsboro Varsity Trojans lead to 7-4 in the bottom of the second inning.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers scored two runs in the top of the fourth on a home run to center field by Rist.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers jumped back into the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Hillsboro Varsity Trojans committed an error, Welch singled to left field, and Hillsboro Varsity Trojans committed an error, each scoring one run.

Hillsboro Varsity Trojans tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a double by Cashen Gann, and a ground out by Braden Thiessen.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers took the lead in the top of the sixth. Rist hit a solo home run to left field, to give Nickerson Varsity Panthers the lead, 10-9.

Rist earned the win for Nickerson Varsity Panthers. The reliever gave up three hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Corbin Shelton pitched three innings in relief for Nickerson Varsity Panthers. The righty surrendered four hits and four runs while, striking out three and walking four. Philpott took the loss for Hillsboro Varsity Trojans. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up seven runs (five earned) on nine hits, striking out five and walking one. Easton Clifford began the game for Nickerson Varsity Panthers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered six hits and five runs over one inning, striking out none and walking none.

Nickerson Varsity Panthers tallied 10 hits in the game. Welch collected two hits for Nickerson Varsity Panthers in three at bats. Nickerson Varsity Panthers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game. Nickerson Varsity Panthers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Welch had the most chances in the field with seven.

Hillsboro Varsity Trojans accumulated 13 hits in the game. Philpott drove the middle of the lineup, leading Hillsboro Varsity Trojans with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Jaeten Loewen, Haslett, Broden Loewen, and Gann each collected multiple hits for Hillsboro Varsity Trojans.
