Kentucky Baseball Club Expands Through Acquisition of Canes Kentucky
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Baseball Club (KBC) is proud to announce the acquisition of Canes Kentucky to unite two of the commonwealth’s premier travel baseball organizations. This new relationship will create greater opportunities for players and further establish KBC as one of the top travel organizations in the country.
The Kentucky Baseball Club (est. 2006) has built a strong reputation as one of the country’s top developmental programs, operating competitive teams across multiple age levels while helping players gain exposure to collegiate opportunities through high-level training and competition on a national stage.
Throughout its history, more than 400 KBC alumni have committed to play college baseball, with over 60 drafted/signed players and six big leaguers.
Founded in 2010 as Elite Baseball Club, Canes Kentucky was established with the purpose of providing every player in the state an opportunity to pursue the dream of playing baseball at the next level. Over the past 15 years, the organization has remained committed to developing not only high-level baseball players, but also exceptional young men, emphasizing academics, character, and memories made above trophies and rankings.
Through this relationship, Kentucky Baseball Club will expand its offerings significantly to include added player development resources, opportunities for exposure at the next level, and further education about the process of moving through youth, high school and college baseball not only for players but for their families as well.
“This relationship is more than baseball,” said Canes owner David Rice, who joins KBC as an Associate General Manager. “It’s about creating the best possible environment for player development, maximizing opportunities for athletes across the Commonwealth, and continuing to invest in young people both on and off the field.”
Moving forward:
• Champions Sports will serve as the organization’s indoor training facility, providing year-round access to premier development resources, including batting cages, fitness areas, team training space, professional instruction and more.
• The merged organization will continue serving players from across the entire state of Kentucky and the Ohio Valley region, while maintaining its strong roots in the Central Kentucky region.
• Kentucky Baseball Club will continue to accelerate growth through strategic consolidation of key regional, like-minded, baseball organizations.
Leadership from both organizations emphasized the on-going commitment to strengthening development pathways for all players — not just elite prospects — while maintaining the core values that have defined the programs for years.
“Our goal remains the same as it was from day one,” KBC Director of Operations Craig Snipp added. “Provide every player the opportunity to grow, compete, and pursue their dreams in a positive, developmental environment.”
More information regarding future tryouts, team structure, staff announcements, and additional developmental opportunities will be released in the coming weeks.
