Lone Holly Farm

Lone Holly Farm Lone Holly Farm is a full care boarding facility catering to working horse owners looking for the best possible care for their equine partners.

Permanently closed.

Lone Holly Farm is a full care boarding facility located in the heart of Lexington ,Kentucky. Located just 10 miles south of downtown Lexington. It is close to both the University of Kentucky and Transylvania University. Experienced manager (35 yrs) in all phases of horse care. Horses are allowed to be outside 24/7 on lots of great pasture and room to roam. Smaller individual pastures available as

well. All horses have a stall for when they may need to come in but we like to "let horses be horses" as much as possible. Small indoor arena, outside small grass dressage ring, jump field, and lots of hills and beautiful area to ride and condition. Lessons available in dressage and lower level eventing. We attend local shows at the Kentucky Horse Park and Masterson Station Park. Limited spots available. I like to keep it small so that horses get lots of attention and individual consideration. It is a fun, fairly quiet, and relaxed atmosphere. We have excellent nutrition and farrier care. Please call to set up an appointment to come out and see us.

The plan of attack for cancer focuses on ridding the body of it, but many times there is another treatment just as important, and that is a focus on a patient’s mental well-being.

To achieve an uphill half-halt, try this tip from Grand Prix rider Chrissa Hoffmann:

Remember that it’s not just about closing your legs and reins at the same time. You also need to rebalance the energy with your seat. Imagine you are on a bicycle and are about to pop a wheelie. Engage your abdominal muscles, lift your chest and still your lower back to lift the front wheels of the bicycle up off the ground. In the saddle, this same feeling tells the horse to lower his hindquarters and lift his front end—just like the front of the bicycle lifts off the ground.
