Florida has now lost 51 children to drownings this year, and each number represents a child, a family, and a tragedy that changes lives forever.

The heartbreaking reality is that many of these incidents are preventable. We must continue to build and strengthen the layers of protection that help keep children safe around water:

Constant, undistracted supervision
Pool fences with self-latching gates
Doors and windows locked and alarmed at all times
Quality Self-Rescue swim lessons
Designated Water Watchers
Remove pet doors
Dress them in bright clothing
Learning CPR

We are also seeing a growing number of drownings occur at vacation homes and short-term rentals, where families may be unfamiliar with the property and safety barriers may not be in place. Water safety must travel with us wherever we go.

As summer continues, please take a moment to review your layers of protection. Drowning can happen quickly and quietly, but together we can help prevent these tragedies.

Please pray for this family! Parents please when you travel think about layers of protection when you are staying in Vacation rentals, or hotels with easy access to the pool. This is such a tragedy. Drownings happen to amazing parents water does not discriminate. If you don’t know what to do please reach out to us and we will be glad to help with putting layers of protection in place.

TOPIC:😢Crying

We want to remind our parents that tears are a completely natural part of the learning process. Growth happens outside of our comfort zones, and confidence comes from consistency. They are stronger than you think!

Crying is normal communication for a young child learning new skills, with a new person, in a new environment. Much like the first day of daycare/school, learning to ride a bike with no training wheels, or even the first night alone in their own room, fear is a typical response to new challenges or experiences. These situations make children feel uncertain, vulnerable, powerless, and anxious. Once they learn they CAN do it, those fears usually turn into confidence and smiles!

Remember, your child feeds off of your energy. They are watching YOU! How you react to your child’s emotions will dictate how they react to situations. Stay positive! While they may not see it now, you’re doing this to keep them safe. Sure, it’s tough to hear them cry, but I can promise you….not being able to hear their cry ever again because they are no longer with us, is what’s truly tough! Thats the pain my friends now experience daily!

CRYING=AIR=ALIVE!

Unfortunately for me, my job description isn't to make all children HAPPY in the water...it is to make them RESPECT it, and it be SAFE in and around it!

You got this! They got this! WE got this!
TOGETHER💚

even if it means tears, we will continue to fight for you, and others gone too soon to drowning.
