Today visitors enjoyed a Fall Wildflower Walk around Evangola State Park. Visitors discovered the many adaptations of wildflowers and saw beautiful flowers in bloom around the Evangola Nature Center.

🥾 of the Week! 🌲
This past weekend, the NFTA's Parks Adventure Bus returned to Evangola State Park. Riders enjoyed a free day at the beach and to explore the park.

The Buttery Elevators open in the Niagara Gorge. They were located at present day Whirlpool Area of Niagara Falls State Park. The elevators were originally operated by water wheel. The elevators offered the public fast and convenient access to the base of the gorge, as well as multiple observation points at various heights to take in the stunning Whirlpool Rapids.

Professor Andrew Jenkins made his way across the Niagara Gorge at the Whirlpool Rapids, located north of the Railway Suspension Bridge, on August 25, 1869, utilizing a unique bicycle-velocipede.

🚃8/25/1895
The Niagara Gorge Railway, commonly referred to as the Great Gorge Route, began operations on August 25, 1895. This electric trolley line traversed the Niagara River, connecting Niagara Falls to Lewiston, NY, and provided passengers with breathtaking views of the gorge, whirlpools, and rapids.
