Our student, Aishwarya Balakrishnan, featured today in the Newton Beacon publication, performed for Newton‘s India Day celebration this weekend on Sunday August 16th. Her rendering of ‘Naadar Mudi Mel’ was greatly appreciated by a large audience.

It was a proud moment for Thillai to be included in the inaugural event of the new Indian consulate in Boston on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day celebration today. Senior students, Smita Rajan and Divya Rajan, delighted a large and appreciative audience with Vande Mataram. It was a beautifully organized event in downtown Boston.

Senior Thillai students Smita Rajan, Divya Rajan, and Mahika Sathnur delighted seniors with a performance at the Laurelmead Cooperative Center in RI on Tuesday, August 11. It was heartwarming to perform for this appreciative audience, including composer Rajee Krishnan.

Divya Rajan’s performance at the Spiritual Center in Natick last weekend was extremely well received by dance lovers in Boston. Kudos to Divya for her commitment in learning and performing several demanding and advanced pieces from the Vazhuvoor repertoire.

It was heartwarming to witness the enthusiasm of students at the Wellesley Middle School this morning for our presentation - ‘Hinduism and Bharatanatyam’. I was ably assisted by my senior students – Smita Rajan and Divya Rajan. The middle schoolers were brimming with questions for us and it was truly satisfying to see how invigorated they were by the content and dancing.

Feeling deep gratitude to the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival and my dear Guru Rhadha Ramanathan for the Nrithya Seva Mani recognition I received today at the prestigious festival. It was especially gratifying that my student, Divya Rajan, also performed today having won the competition for choreography last year.
