The amazing body and how we had it all wrong for so many years. Our bodies become so tight they restrict our movements. Our solution to this for years has been exercise which further tightens our muscles. Our tightness is what causes these injuries not our weakness. The scar tissue we have on our bodies is profound. When I set out to understand our fascia. I did not expect to find the results that I did. We have had it so wrong for so many years. Yet it was always there in plain sight. The only way for one to know though is to do as I did and experiment on oneself. So, one can truly understand just how our bodies adapt and change over time. Our bodies are always seeking to balance oneself and to find the easiest way to perform a movement. By doing so we become tighter and tighter over time. The tightness is our weakness!
We think our core is weak because of its appearance on many people and due to many peoples struggle with movement, balance and strength. When you really think about it though our core is used for everything. If something is used all the time for everything how then can it be weak? From its tightness it becomes inflexible. From its inflexibility it becomes weak. When you look around you can see we are all so tight. Pushing us into positions we deem comfortable. We have trouble squatting, getting out of chairs, walking upstairs our tightness is all around use. We for centuries have been thinking it weakness, so we try to strengthen it.
Caring for our fascia is the way of the future. If you stretch your fascia, you can regain so much. Up until now we have not known a way to do this. I have found the solution changing the way we perceive the body. What I have done to myself I can do for others. With my systematic approach we can all start to live better lives. By loosening our hips and core we can start to see improvements in our daily lives. Allowing us to get more out of exercise, freeing yourself from movement restrictions.
As we all get older, we start to fear certain movements. Either because the bring the chance of pain or because we are injuring it further. We all live with these thoughts many of them reside subconsciously. Which in many ways are the worst because our bodies unintentionally tense without cause.
Our tension is also what creates these problems we all face. We all try to fix them or wish we could in some way. We all live in fear of movement in some way. Let’s free ourselves from these fears. Let’s live better lives where we can all do more and be more.
