In Nia, we don't dance for an audience... we dance for ourselves... We dance as a personal expression of the spirit and embodied unification of body, mind and soul.

Martha Graham (May 11, 1894 – April 1, 1991) was an American dancer and choreographer regarded as one of the foremost pioneers of modern dance, and is widely considered one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.

Modern dance is one of the 9 movement forms that inspire and animate the Nia Technique and we honor and celebrate Martha Graham and all who's legacy inspire our work.
