We had a great turnout this year at the Golf Outing to support NCHS Eagles and Lady Eagles Basketball! Thank you to everyone who played this year! Here is our annual picture of those who play/played and/or coach/coached in the basketball programs!

The 2026 Effingham Daily News All-Area Girls' Basketball Defensive Team consists of players from 16 surrounding schools.

Last stop of the shootout days was Ginger Ale's. (Not all our players rode the bus home, so not all are in the picture.)

We had a great 3 days at the shootout! We are thankful to Newton Athletic Boosters for helping out financially.
We are thankful to the players and their families for their dedication to the program. The girls played hard all 9 games. Varsity went 5-1, and JV went 2-1.

We are most thankful for a team who plays well together and has good character.

Received recognition from an official today for our coaching staff and players' demeanor on the sideline! Appreciate the compliment on good character! It is not just about basketball! Some lessons are bigger than the game!

JV Lady Eagles enjoyed their day at the shootout today! Learning so much and growing together as a team, the girls played well, going 2-1. Proud of their hard work, effort, and dedication! Thanks again, Newton Athletic Boosters, for this opportunity!
