We are excited to announce the commitment of Nahki Hernandez to our program! Nahki comes to us from Mount Olive where he was a District 5 placer and Region 2 qualifier at 138lbs. His team also won a group 4 state championship this season! We look forward to seeing him in the Sussex singlet next season!

Good luck to our National Qualifiers: Gavin Pych, Jose Alvarenga-Giron, Jesse Huelbig! They are off to Council Bluffs, Iowa to represent Sussex in the 2026 NJCAA National Wrestling Championships. They’re now among the top 32 in the country at their weight and will battle to become an All-American!

Congratulations to one of our incoming commits for next year, Billy Wood! Over the weekend he won the Section V state qualifier earning him a trip to the NY State Championships. Billy also broke 100 pins in the process! He pinned in the quarters to earn his 100th and his pin in the finals put him at 102 pins for his career, setting a school record! Billy is now a 3x state qualifier who already placed 7th last year. We wish him all the best at states as his strong senior campaign continues!

We are thrilled to announce the commitment of Billy Wood to our program, currently one of the top ranked 165lb wrestlers in the state of New York! Billy finished 7th at the state championships last season as a Junior! He is a 3x Section V Class A2 champion. 2x State Qualifer and has over 135 wins and 85 pins and counting! We look forward to seeing him in the lineup for Sussex next season!
