WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a stunning display of historical amnesia that could only be rivaled by a goldfish with Alzheimer’s, the mainstream media is now labeling Tom Homan—former ICE boss turned White House Border Czar—a “literal Nazi” for his plans to deport millions of criminal aliens who waltzed across Joe Biden’s “Come One, Come All” border buffet. This, despite the fact that back in 2015, President Barack Obama personally handed Homan the Presidential Rank Award for Distinguished Service—essentially a gold star for masterminding the deportation of millions of illegal immigrants during the Obama era.
Sources close to the situation say Homan’s crime? Serving as Border Czar under President Trump to enforce the law against the same folks Biden invited in with open arms, free hotel vouchers, and a side of taxpayer-funded Uber Eats. “It’s outrageous,” fumed CNN anchor Don Lemonade in a tearful monologue. “Deporting people under Obama was compassionate and humane—like a gentle nudge out the door with a fruit basket. But under Trump? It’s basically the Holocaust, but with more sombreros.”
Homan, who served as Executive Associate Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations at ICE under Obama, was hailed as a hero for racking up deportation numbers that would make a FedEx driver jealous. Obama even threw in a fancy award ceremony, complete with photo ops and probably some arugula salad. Fast forward to today, and the same guy is now Public Enemy No. 1 as Trump’s Border Czar for daring to suggest that maybe, just maybe, we shouldn’t let MS-13 set up shop in your grandma’s neighborhood.
Progressive pundits are scrambling to explain the flip-flop. “Context matters,” insisted MSNBC’s Joyless Reid. “Under Obama, deportations were about hope and change. Under Trump, it’s about hate and orange. Totally different!” Meanwhile, anonymous sources at The New York Times whisper that they’re working on a bombshell exposé titled “Tom Homan: From Obama Darling to Fascist Fiend—How One Man Betrayed the Dream by Enforcing Laws Consistently.”
