Hi everyone!
As my lesson schedule continues to grow, I’ve been evaluating how to best help each athlete develop while also accommodating as many girls as possible each week. After working with so many athletes, I’ve noticed players make much better progress when we are able to stay fully focused on one skill during their lesson time rather than splitting attention between multiple areas. Especially with younger athletes, attention span and energy levels naturally begin to drop once we transition into a second skill, which can take away from the quality of reps, focus, and overall development.
Therefore to better utilize time, I’ll be transitioning away from the 30-minute skill split sessions (ex: 30 minutes hitting / 30 minutes pitching or fielding).
I want to make sure every athlete is getting the most productive and intentional work possible during their time with me.
Moving forward:
- Hitting lessons will be offered as 30-minute focused sessions
- Pitching lessons will be offered as either 30-minute for ages 12 and under or 60-minute sessions for ages 13 and up. Longer sessions for ages 13 + are recommended.
- Fielding lessons will be offered as a 30-minute focused session
For families who were previously doing the 30/30 split lessons, my best advice would be, if possible, to schedule two separate focused sessions. I truly feel the girls benefit more from shorter, intentional reps where we can focus specifically on one area at a time rather than trying to split skills within one lesson. Even alternating weekly between hitting and pitching/fielding can still be extremely beneficial if scheduling two sessions weekly is not ideal!
If you already have lessons scheduled, we will absolutely keep those as planned! These changes will begin next week (May 18-22) or so moving forward with future scheduling.
I truly appreciate all of the support and trust you continue to give me while working with your girls. I’m excited to continue helping them grow both on and off the field!
**NOTE: If you or your daughter have a 30-minute lesson, please arrive early enough to get warmed up in order to be ready for your lesson.**
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!
Thank you guys again! Georgia Ingle
