The entire team turned in a phenomenal overall performance, with special shoutouts going to two of our standout athletes:

THE COUNTY LINE CUP IS BACK HOME WHERE IT BELONGS! 🏆

It’s always more than just a football game when we play Jackson-Milton. Separated by just 10 minutes across the Trumbull and Mahoning county line, this annual rivalry brings out the absolute best in our community. On Friday night, the Tigers dropped the hammer! 🔨💥

With a dominant performance, Newton Falls reclaimed the trophy and moved to a 2-0 record for the FIRST TIME since 2018! The energy in the stands was unreal, the defense set the tone early, and our boys executed when it mattered most to bring that hardware right back across the county border.

This is what Friday night football in Northeast Ohio is all about.

Lace up those running shoes and join us this Labor Day, Monday, September 7th for the FREE Newton Falls Labor Day 4-Miler! Whether you're an avid runner or just looking for a fun walk, everyone is welcome!

Date: Monday, September 7, 2026

Time: Race starts at 8:00 AM (Facilities open 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM at NF Elementary School)

Cost: FREE for all runners and walkers!

Awards: Finisher medals for participants, plus trophies for the Top 3 Male & Top 3 Female overall finishers! 🏆

🏈 THE ULTIMATE COMEBACK: SPENCER SABO IS BACK ON THE GRIDIRON! 🐯

There are stories that transcend sports, and this is one of them. We are thrilled beyond words to celebrate Junior Spencer Sabo ( #14), who was officially cleared to return to football—and made his inspiring season debut last week! 💥

In December of 2024, Spencer woke up in extreme pain. What followed was a diagnosis of T-Cell Lymphoma caused by a mass in his chest. His world quickly shifted to surgeries, IV chemo, weekly shots, blood transfusions, and remote schooling.

Through every single round of treatment, Spencer kept a singular goal locked in his mind: getting back on the football field with his team.

Even while battling cancer, Spencer never stopped grinding:
💪 Kept lifting weights throughout his treatment

📚 Maintained his grades in school

🤝 Volunteered with local youth and worked a part-time job

Now in maintenance—and preparing to ring the bell this coming April—Spencer had his medical port removed, received official clearance, and suited up last week.

His return made an already huge night even more special. Spencer played his part on the field alongside his brothers as the Tigers secured a hard-fought win over Wellsville—marking our program's first football victory in over 2 years! 🏆🎉

Head Coach Goss, his teammates, and the entire Newton Falls community couldn't be prouder to see #14 back in pad and helmet. Thank you to everyone who supported Spencer and his family throughout his battle.

🏋️‍♀️ CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD FOR AIVEN! 🏋️‍♀️

Let’s give a huge Newton Falls shoutout to Aiven Hickman on an incredible performance over the weekend! 💥

Aiven traveled to compete in the Metal Militia World Championships this past Saturday, competing in squat, bench, and deadlift. Not only did she put up mind-blowing numbers, but she took home GOLD in all 3 events across her weight division! 🥇🥇🥇

Look at these insane numbers:
🏋️‍♀️ Squat: 215 lbs
🏋️‍♀️ Bench: 120 lbs
🏋️‍♀️ Deadlift: 250 lbs

Beyond the medals, this journey has been a massive confidence builder, proving what relentless dedication and hard work can do!
A special shoutout goes to her mentor and coach, Dave Dunn, a lieutenant with the Lake Milton Fire Department. Dave randomly stepped in to help correct her form at Iron Forge Gym back in January, and he has voluntarily spent countless hours coaching her ever since. Thank you, Coach Dave, for investing in our youth! 👏
