The Cincinnati Junior Rowing Club is a competitive rowing team, open to any high school student in the greater Cincinnati area. Located in Newport, Ky, the club has both boys and girls teams, totaling around 130 rowers from area schools. Since our inception in 1993, CJRC has emerged as one of the dominant programs in the Midwest region if not the whole country. The boys and girls teams have each w

on 20 team championships at the annual Midwest Junior Rowing Association competition along with over 30 medals at National Championship regattas, including 15 national titles. Following their successes at our club, numerous CJRC have gone on to compete in the Olympics and other world rowing competitions. Many of our club’s rowers continue their rowing careers at elite colleges and rowing programs such as Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, Duke, Virginia, Texas, Washington, etc. Although we have experienced national recognition, we prides ourselves on being a program driven by the rowers and open to anyone--regardless of experience or income level.

This past weekend at the Midwest Junior Regional Championship the boys’ team retains the team points trophy and the girls’ team had a hard fought effort getting second overall in team points!
A huge thank you to the rowers for an incredible weekend and to every team that came! Biggest thanks to the parent volunteers who facilitate and run this regatta, couldn’t have done it without you!
We have 4 boats training for Youth Nationals! Wish them luck and stay tuned!

Spring season is in full force! Our crews have been busy with back-to-back regattas at the KCRA Invitational, Dogwood Junior Championship, and Indy Junior Sprints.
The rowers aren’t just logging travel miles, they’re putting in the work, collecting hardware, and making memories along the way. Next stop: Midwest Championships! The countdown is officially ON. Let’s go! 🚣‍♂️

Where are all our helpers?! In just over two weeks, CJRC will host the Midwest Junior Rowing Championship! We are honored to be the only club in the nation tasked with hosting a regional championship, but we can’t pull it off alone. We are calling on all current and alumni families, local rowing enthusiasts, and friends from our fellow Midwest clubs: We need your hands on deck! Please spread the word and help us make this event a success for the athletes.

After last year’s flood, it felt incredible to finally hold the Cincinnati High School Invitational again. We are proud to host, even prouder to keep a lot hardware in Cincy. This past weekend was a perfect start to the spring season. Great job to all of our crews! Photo credit: Michael Barrett

Calling all 12-16 year olds in the Tri-State area! We are hosting our annual Summer Learn-to-Row camps. If you loving being on the water and want to learn a new sport, come down to the boathouse this summer! No experience is needed to sign up.

After another day of getting snow, I think we are all ready to think about summer! Join us to learn how to safely row as a team on the river. Open to all 12-16 year olds in the Tri-State area. No experience is needed.

Come down to learn about an olympic sport in a safe and fun environment! Join us for one week or sign up for more to continue your learning.
