⚓️ After 16 years of one-design racing and living aboard in San Francisco, Dave Peckham returned home to Rhode Island in 2022—and immediately started boat shopping.
He found Mueyu, a 2009 Akilaria 40RC1 in Spain, and set out to create the perfect “fast voyager”, something between racing and cruising.

After a double-handed sail from Gijón to Puerto Rico, a long list of repairs, a false start home, and even selling (then buying back) the boat, he finally brought Mueyu to RI last summer.

Now refitting in Wickford, this season is all about dialing, with plans for the Offshore 160, Solo/Twin, and the Ida Lewis Distance Race.

Next up: maybe the Caribbean this winter… and a return lap of the Atlantic in 2027 🌊 Good luck Mueyu!
