Our 2026 Amica Newport Marathon & Half Marathon Finisher's Medals!

Mile 23 of our marathon course - you've got just about a 5K to go. Hang in there, and enjoy the sights and sounds around Gardiner Pond and along Hanging Rock Road and the Norman Bird Sanctuary (another great place for a recovery walk on Monday!)

At mile 24, runners will pass the famous Hanging Rock - Aquidneck Island’s most distinctive natural geological feature. It's unique rock formation, called “Puddingstone,” or “Purgatory Conglomerate,” which emerges from the forest of the Norman Bird Sanctuary.

Marathoners, once you've conquered the final hill at Mile 25, it is LITERALLY all downhill to the finish! As you run up the hill, on your left, you'll have an incredible view of Sachuest (second) beach — if it's a balmy day, there will be surfers catching waves to keep you distracted. Crest that hill and enjoy the final leg to the finish — you've earned it!
