A few things to know:
🌉 Fun fact: “I’ve been part of this ride since 2018, and I also work for Tri-State Trails as the Communications & Events Manager. This October marks 5 years helping grow our regional trail network.”
🛠️ Riding since: “Most of my life, but I really got into it in 2009 after adopting a Raleigh Technium from MoBo Bicycle Co-op.”
💙 Favorite bike: “My powder blue SOMA Double Cross, my ride-or-die bike. It’s carried me through storms, rough roads, across state lines, in the heat and snow, to work and back, and more miles than I can count.”
🚴‍♀️Favorite local stretch of road: “Lately I’ve been loving the Riverfront Commons trail in Dayton, KY. The new stretch along the Ohio River is hard to beat.”
💛 Favorite thing about TNW: “I love the community, the variety of pace groups, and traditions like Biketoberfest. But more than anything, I love the consistency. Every Tuesday, my brain and body just know it’s time to ride.”
👋 New rider advice: “We’re a welcoming group. Riders of all abilities and all types of bikes are encouraged to join. For your first ride, try Mellow. It’s fun, conversational, and a great way to learn to ride with traffic and navigate as a group.”
🔔 Hot take: “I have a bell on all my bikes. It’s a friendly way to let people know you’re coming and helps keep things safe on shared trails. Give a shout, ‘on your left,’ and pass with care. Share the trail!”

Meet your TNW Ride Guide: Elizabeth Gilbert
You’ll find her leading B and Mellow
A few things to know:
🚲 Favorite bike: Pure Cycles Veleta — it was the first bike I purchased, and has done everything for me, from commuting, social riding in Mellow and Ride the Cov, road riding in the C & B groups, and bikepacking. I’ve recently expanded into separate road and mountain bikes, but the Pure Cycles is still my commuter and touring bike, and it’ll be so hard to retire it some day.
⛰ Favorite local stretch of road: I think Glenview Ave is one of the most beautiful climbs (but I also have a soft spot for the Devou area climbs like Prisoners Lake Dr, Altamont Rd, & Devou Dr)
💃🇩🇪Fun fact: In addition to cycling, I dance Lindy Hop and speak German
🕒 Riding since: For recreation since childhood, for transportation since college
Favorite thing about TNW:
The community: there are so many different pace groups, and we all come back together and socialize after the ride
New rider advice:
You’re welcome here! There’s a group for everyone, and we love getting to welcome new riders
Cycling Hot take:
Lycra is not necessary! Do I think I look super cool & sporty in my EF jersey & cycling shorts? Absolutely. But I also love mixing in normal dry fit tops & running shorts to show up to rides in, and honestly it’s my long distance cycling apparel of choice. Apparel shouldn’t be a prerequisite or limiting factor to the riding style you want to do- you can still show up, be super fast, feel confident, and have fun riding bikes in any clothes.
Even more generally- ride what you have, and don’t let it limit you. I brought my steel road bike- complete with rear rack- on two years of B group rides before getting an N+1 lighter road bike.
