Great tournament result. Significant improvement over last year.
This was the 20th running of the Little Beast Tournament and Crystal Coast Grapplers won both the Elementary and Middle School Champion Trophies. There were 348 entries representing 38 Clubs making it the largest NCWAY tournament in the East. The combined team scores of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams were less than the total team points CC Grapplers accumulated. We had about the same number of wrestlers as last year but this years team total of 723.5 points blew away last years score of 579.5.
Pulling this off was a team team effort between our HS Coaches - David Perry and Johnathan Rigsby - The Croatan HS Men and Woman's Wrestling Teams, and the many volunteers. It was all guided by CC Grappler Coach and Tournament Director Bobby Johnson. We have a unique and highly respected connection between our Club elementary wrestlers, BCMS wrestlers and Croatan HS Wrestlers that continues to improve each year. If you want to be a wrestler this is the local you want to be in.
