Jefferson 42, Hanover-Horton 28

HORTON – Jefferson, which earned just one victory last season, opened 2025 with a statement, mauling a school coming off an 8-2 record a year ago. “This was huge,” Jefferson coach Rob Beaudrie said. “Our guys really believe in their brotherhood. They have faith and belief in the system.”

Junior quarterback Luke Beaudrie had a huge game, scoring four touchdowns and throwing for two. He ran 17 times for 174 yards and 3 TDs and returned a kickoff for a score. He completed 10-of-14 passes for 142 yards and TDs to Bret Gennoe and Hunter Barton.

Faith, family, brotherhood. We belong!! The culture has changed!! 💛💙

I’ve been preaching from day one….there is something special happening with Jefferson Athletics, and I’m proud to announce…WE BELONG!!! Congrats to Coach Beaudrie and his staff! I couldn’t be more proud of this football program, and I have the privilege of seeing these young men grind every single day! If you don’t know, now ya know!!! FAMILY 💛💙🏈

Jefferson soccer scores on Riverview for the first time since 2011 and pulls out a tie; Milan tops Flat Rock and Huron handles SMCC.

PARENTS: I began distributing picture day forms to the boys that were at practice. Picture day is September 9th. I will give the rest of the forms to the boys who are at the game tomorrow.

Also, we have to make sure the boys have signed all necessary documents, and paid their pay to play, if any player has financial difficulty, please let me know and I’ll get a hardship form. Obviously we will do whatever it takes to help our athletes! 💛💙

“Practice.” Wow. This is the polar opposite of what we’re building here at Jefferson. I’m so proud of our young men, many of whom are just learning the game of soccer. We held this state ranked team to 4 goals in the first half. Our heart and effort was tremendous, and I couldn’t be more proud of our boys. 💛💙

Parents: as you see from these rankings, we are once again facing a top ranked opponent in Huron ( #5 in Division 2). There’s no sugar coating it, this Huron team will most likely win our league. Further, Huron has a player ( #36) who just put up 5 goals vs Flat Rock, and is one goal away from setting the Huron League scoring record. Last season, they beat us 13-0 in one half!

However, we’re on a mission! The boys have been briefed and we’re as prepared as possible. We fully understand the challenge and accept it. These young men have taken all of this personally, and we will make Huron earn everything. Once again, I ask for your support as we face the toughest part of our schedule, with Riverview and Airport coming up as well. Regardless of the results, we must learn from these games. Finally, it really demonstrates why my top priority is a middle school program. It’s imperative that we begin building our soccer program from the 6th grade level on up, so that we have a better shot against these established programs. Building from the ground up is never easy, but we have AMAZING support, and we must trust the process. FAMILY 💛💙✝️
