Coast Guard Blue Dolphins Swim Team Creating Champions in all avenues of life through Competitive Swimming with Integrity, Excellence, A

The Mission of the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins Swim Team is to offer a competitive USA Swimming program for our local communities. We believe in providing multiple training groups in accordance with the ability levels and aspirations of our athletes. We foster the enjoyment and love of competitive swimming and strive for growth and excellence in our team members. With these principles as our foundation, the Blue Dolphins excel at local, state and national levels. CGBD offers high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. All of our coaches, as members of the American Swimming Coaches Association, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time. We are a non-profit club, run by an elected Board of Directors which meets each month. All members of CGBD are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved in team planning and activities. All CGBD competition and activities are supported by the volunteer efforts of our parents and families.

What. A. DAY! 🏊🏾‍♀️✨

The 2026 Virginia Swimming Swimposium was SO much fun!

Our CGBD swimmers got to hang out with not one, but TWO Olympians—Kate Douglass and Josh Davis! They met them, learned from them, saw Olympic medals up close, and even got to watch Kate swim!

Talk about a swimmer’s dream day! 🥇🏊🏾‍♀️

There was learning, inspiration, lots of excitement, and plenty of “Did that really just happen?!” moments.

We are so grateful to virginiaswimming for creating experiences like this for our athletes. Days like today remind our swimmers that the pool can take you places you never imagined.

We want to see ALL of our Blue Dolphins at BMAC on Friday, September 18 for our 2026–2027 CGBD Team Picture!

📅 Friday, September 18
📍 Brittingham-Midtown Aquatic Center (BMAC)
⏰ Full Team Photo: 5:00 PM
👕 Wear your yellow 2026–2027 CGBD team T-shirt and black leggings or shorts.
Please arrive a few minutes early and be ready for the full team picture at 5:00 PM.

📸 Dolphin Rec 12 & Under photos will be taken immediately following their workout

Anne Companion Photography will once again be photographing CGBD!
There is NO need to prepay or place an order before Picture Day. A few days after photos are taken, families will receive an online gallery where they can view their swimmer’s photos and decide what they would like to purchase.

Packages begin at $28, and individual prints, memory mates, wallets, digital files, bag tags, key chains and buttons will also be available.
⭐ BONUS: Orders placed during the first week after the gallery is released will receive 10% off!

Tonight is the final night to register for our Fall 1 session! Dolphin Swims uses the nationally recognized SwimAmerica program to help swimmers become safer, stronger and more confident in the water.

We offer options for a variety of ages, abilities and schedules:

💙 Parent-and-baby classes
💙 Midday lessons
💙 School-age lessons
💙 Adult lessons
💙 Lessons for swimmers with special needs

Choose from three convenient locations:

The bags are packed, the goggles are found (hopefully 😆), and the swim caps have been rescued from the bottom of the swim bag… because it’s time to get back in the water!

Welcome back to the pool, Dolphin and Age Group swimmers! 🎉

We hope you enjoyed your summer because the coaches have been patiently waiting… and by patiently, we mean counting down the days until we could bring back the sets, the smiles, and the classic coach phrase: “One more time!” 😂

Get ready for new goals, new challenges, faster swims, and plenty of memories with your CGBD family. The road to personal bests starts with showing up, working hard, and maybe remembering where you left your water bottle. 😉

💙💛 WHAT A WAY TO KICK OFF THE SEASON! 💛💙

The CGBD Team Picnic was all about what makes our team special — swimmers, coaches, parents, families, lots of laughs and a whole lot of BLUE & YELLOW!

From our little Dolphins hanging out with the big Dolphins, to parents catching up, coaches getting to know families outside of the pool, and teammates reconnecting after summer — this is what the CGBD family is all about.

We train hard. We race hard. But we also know how to have FUN together!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and helped us celebrate the start of another CGBD season.
