Next up in our “Meet the Team” series is someone who truly helps hold it all together: Dee Hill, the glue behind so much of what we do. ❤️✨

If you’ve ever attended packet pickup, had a question that needed answering, needed help solving a race-day hiccup, or, honestly, been involved with Flat-Out Events in just about any way, chances are you’ve met the amazing Dee.

Dee is often the smiling face greeting our participants, the steady voice helping keep things moving, and the thoughtful planner making sure every detail has been considered from every angle. She keeps us organized, keeps us thinking ahead, and somehow does it all with kindness, patience, and the kind of warmth that can win over even the fiercest foe.

Around here, “Do the Right Thing” is more than a motto, and was inspired by the way Dee serves our team, our runners, and our community. She’s a proud wife, mom, loyal friend, church member, travel lover, Disney fan, Team USA superfan, and collector of all things miniature.

We’d be lost without her, and we are beyond grateful for the heart, order, and joy she brings to Flat-Out Events. 💙

The Chick-fil-A 10K/5K is always about more than the miles. ❤️

Thanks to your registrations, donations, and generous support, this year’s race helped support the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank and provide 4,583 meals for neighbors in need right here in our community.

To every runner, walker, donor, volunteer, and supporter: thank you for helping make that impact possible!

Today's the day! We’re beyond excited to kick off One City season together and start celebrating Global Running Day early. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Join us Monday, June 1st at 1700 Brewing as we celebrate Global Running Day early with our One City 2027 Kickoff Event alongside Point 2 Running’s group run.

Point 2 Running, ambassadors, Flat-Out Events, and runners from across the community are coming together for a fun, energetic evening of miles, momentum, and One City excitement. We’ll also have some raffle prizes, lots of fun surprises, and a brand rep from On with some sweet demos!

And here’s the big news: One City 2027 registration will officially be open during this special group run! 🎉

Registration will be live at the event, so come run with us and be one of the first to sign up for One City 2027.

Plus, for a chance to win a FREE One City registration, tag us on Facebook or Instagram and use anytime during the group run, through the end of Global Running Day on Wednesday, June 3rd.

WHAT a day! 👏 🥳 🏁

The skies may have been cloudy and the rain may have made an appearance, but our runners, volunteers, sponsors, partners, vendors, and cheering squads showed up in such a big way that we hardly even noticed.

A HUGE thank you to every person who helped make race day such a success. We could not do this without you! ❤️

It’s race week, and we couldn’t be more excited for Cows, Chicken, and Chasing the Finish Line! 🐄🏃‍♂️🎉

The Chick-fil-A 10K/5K is happening THIS Saturday, and we can’t wait to see runners, walkers, families, volunteers, and our community come together for an incredible day.

Volunteers are what make race day feel like race day. ❤️

When you volunteer at the Chick-fil-A 10K/5K, you’re not just helping with a start line, a finish line, a water stop, or a Family Fun Zone. You’re joining a team of people who love cheering others on, helping runners reach their goals, and creating the kind of race day experience people remember.

And yes, there’s free Chick-fil-A involved, too. 😉

All volunteers will receive:

🐔 A Chick-fil-A Sandwich on race day

We have several volunteer opportunities available, including Family Fun Zone, Start/Finish Line, Gear Check, Parking Assistance, Course Marshal, and Race Day Registration.

We’re honored to share that Newport News One City Marathon has been named Virginia's Best Marathon in 2026! 🏆

To every runner who took the time to vote for us, thank you. Truly. This means the world because it came from you, the people who show up, put in the miles, bring the energy, and make One City Weekend what it is year after year.

It’s not lost on us that YOU put us at the top of the list. We’re incredibly grateful for this honor, and we’re more motivated than ever to keep raising the bar.
