Hi there!
My name is Sarah Arteaga, and I’m the Founder of Village Vinyasa LLC. I am an E-RYT 200, RPYT, and YACEP yoga teacher as well as a certified/licensed PreK - 12th grade teacher with a Masters Degree in Education.
I have over 20 years of experience teaching children and 10+ years teaching yoga and mindfulness. Ever the yoga, meditation, and movement student myself, I have taken over 150 hours of additional coursework in Yoga for the Classroom, Mindful Schools, and Mindfulness training, as well as Thai Yoga Massage and Bodywork training.
I’m also a Fulbright Distinguished Teaching Award recipient and spent a summer teaching and learning alongside wonderful students and teachers in Anaikatti, India. Mindful morning practices and yoga were built into the school day for all of the students, and I was able to learn so much from these experiences and bring similar practices back to the school where I taught.
My teaching style for Kids’ Yoga is a unique blend of the insights I’ve gleaned from my experiences in education and as a parent to two of my own little ones. I take a playful, yet grounded approach to mindfulness, and aim to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space that supports the wellbeing of the whole child.
We will learn through storytelling, creative arts and expression, games and play, music and movement, and incorporate breath work and empowering tools to help kiddos navigate big feelings when a challenging moment arises.
