Great start to the holiday weekend!
The White Sea, Sand, and Calico bass all wanted to eat today. Fish are really started to bite the flyline baits and was constant action all morning. Looks like a good start to the inshore action on the beach with plenty of fishing time on the half day. One spot stop! Book a trip and catch a delicious bass!

Quick little trip to Mammoth this week to take care of our cabin. River and I took the ebike up to the lakes and he scored this Rainbow on his second cast. Beautiful time of year up there with snow on the mountains and perfect weather.
Back at it on the ocean though, booked through the holiday but have a couple openings starting next Wednesday.

We had a pretty good time at the Island on Friday and Saturday but got blew out today with the wind. Plenty of biting bass and Bonito with a few Yellowtail sprinkled in. Not the biggest models but we will take em.
A few more hooked and lost as well, typical. I am sure we would catch more if the sea lions weren't so bad.
Hopefully this weather straightens out and get things really cooking soon.
Also, some WhiteSeaBass at the local spots if anyone wants to go do that as well right now. Calendar is getting full for the coming months, all it takes is $100 deposit to lock down your day and we can figure out best trip when your dates comes whether it be Local, Catalina, Clemente or Offshore for Tuna/YT/Mahi.

Bass fishing at the Island has been quite good, limits yesterday for my 2 anglers.
One spot was just one after another chinkers, no shorts. We put on 10 keepers on in just a fewminutes.
Nice sized Bonito and Barracuda also to add to the bags.
We have hooked a few yellowtail but the sea lions have been doing a good job of robbing us. Almost wish there were more boats fishing to disperse them. Practically zero boat pressure even on the weekend.
There are more Yellows there than the reports show, because we are hooking them in quite a few different areas. Just going to get better as we roll into May. Book an island trip and make some lasting memories and before I have to raise prices due to this fuel hike. Ugh.

Fished the last two days at the Island and it has been pretty good. Yellowtail are there, they aren't easy but we are scratching at them.
The Calico bass bite on the front is ridiculous though, as many bass as you want with some nice keepers in the mix.
Some Bonito too! Fishing is just getting better. So if you want to go yellowtail/bass fishing, DM or call and let's go!

First Catalina trip of the season and it paid off with a few yellowtail. We also got some chunky bass to go with them. A slow start in the morning but conditions came together before the tide bottomed out. Beautiful weather and nobody around made a sweet spring island day. The water was already 68 degrees in the channel and 66 at the island so things should be interesting this year.
DM to book a coastal, island, or Offshore trip this season while I have some availability, I will eventually book out.

I haven't posted in awhile but it has been a really fun late winter/early spring fishing on the beach. Nice Sheephead have been filling the bags dauily along with whitefish, sculpin, Bass, and the occasional cabezon and Triggerfish.
Water temps never dropped to normal winter/spring averages and we have had some incredible weather and conditions.
Not only are we catching fish but have been seeing grey and fin whales, mako sharks, and big blue sharks which is always cool.
Watch out for the stinging slime out there, dont know if it is jellyfish tentacles or what but it stings pretty good if you touch it.

Did some call a cab? Well a nice one showed up on the half day. Little slower on the beach with the water pretty dirty after last weeks storm.
Water temp still holding and the barracuda are still destroying everything. The weather was super nice and so was the bait.
So if you want to get outside and enjoy the ocean, now is the time.
Gonna hit the Island tomorrow to see if some Yellows want to bite. Stay tuned.....

October is serving up some quality Yellowtail fishing at the Island. Anna and Joe got a couple along with a bunch of Bonito and some bass. We lost a couple more to the local lions but there is plenty of opportunity if you are working at it.
Happy Birthday to Anna and a big thanks to her dad Joe, great guests.
Booked the next five days but have days open next week starting on Tuesday.
Excellent fishing, perfect weather, biting yellows and no crowds, so go fishing!

Another great day at Catalina and the breeze wasn't as bad as forecasted. The conditions on the back were pretty mixed up so we went around the corner. Good bass and Bonito action and Mark got this nice Yellow. Lost a couple too, but it was overall really fun. Get out there before the season ends, hit me up if you want to fish with almost zero crowds and perfect weather.

My tackle recommendation:
40lb spectra, 25lb flouro leader, size 1 hook.
Shimano Trinidad 12 and a Teramar MH rod has been getting the job done all season and is light as a feather. Super fun set up.
