The final day of pool operations at the Dive In will be this Sunday afternoon, September 6, from 1:30 until 5:30.

Due to staffing circumstances beyond the department’s control, we will not be open this Saturday and Labor Day Monday. We have enjoyed a safe and great season at the Dive In, and appreciate your patronage. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday for one last afternoon of fun this season!

Thanks to all the parents and family members who supported our young Vikings today at this season’s youth jamboree in Marion. It was a hot day, but volunteer coaches and parents had cool drinks, water and food available throughout the day for the players. Our teams looked good and set themselves on a positive track for a great season! Thank you all again, and see you two weeks from today at Mtn Heritage High in Burnsville.

Attention Youth Football parents and coaches. For tomorrow’s jamboree at McDowell High, the multi-team meeting with officials will now be held at 9:30 a.m. on the fifty yard line. We advise you to arrive as early as you’d like due to parking constraints. Remember, you can park at West McDowell Middle campus and ride a shuttle up the hill. Please enter from the Lowe’s Home Improvement side of the high school. Thank you, and we hope to see everyone tomorrow! APRD

Attention Youth Football Parents - information received from McDowell Youth Football regarding Saturdays jamboree at McDowell High School:

For the Mountain Rec Jamboree on 8/29, please enter on the Lowe’s side entrance to McDowell High School.

There are multiple events taking place on 8/29. Families may park at the high school football field, but in the event it is necessary, an overflow lot has been set up at West McDowell Middle School. The overflow parking will be on the left when turning into the High School at West McDowell Middle, and a shuttle will take families up the back hill to the High School field.

Flag Football Informational Meeting will be in the Rock Gym at 6 P.M. on Tuesday, August 25. All U-6 parents and players are expected to attend. We will release the initial schedule at that time. We will be playing at least eight games. All information will be available tomorrow.

*We did not have enough players register to offer a U-8 division.
