Looking for a "fun run" off road this week? Come join the local cross country team for a casual training run on and around our home course. Meet up behind Wallace Middle School around 6:00 pm this Wednesday evening.

SUMMER, 2023: As promised, you still have a chance to run the home course for NHSXC on Wednesdays this summer (and not even limited to six designated weeks)! Come join the NHSXC boys and girls teams' summer training runs behind JWMS, usually starting around 6:00 pm. No sign up, no fuss, totally spontaneous, still lots of fun.

2023?
While I won’t be hosting the “Fun Runs” in the same format going forward, that doesn’t mean there won’t be an opportunity to gather as a community to run together, including at least one timed run (attention 169 Club Runners).
Since the high school cross country runners need to work on their base training over the summer, my intent is to utilize our Wednesday evening time slot on our home course for an informal, open invitation run for anyone interested in joining in. If possible, we will pick one Wednesday this summer for a timed run. Further details to follow this spring…

ACORN TROPHIES: I inadvertently failed to mention that our end of season acorn trophies are handmade by our own race timer, Mike Randich, along with his good friend and former neighbor, Clarence. Thanks guys for helping us provide such a unique, yet fitting, recognition to perfect attendance. And congrats to Eric, John, Lee, Donna, Grace, Amelia and Jen for running all five sessions in 2022!

Here are tonight's results, and likely the last time we'll be posting formal (cough) results like this!

JoDee and I have been helping Jay and Mike with these races for at least 5 years, and it's been an absolute blast. These guys are the best to work with.

Jay is out there marking the course hours before every race, interacting with the town to ensure the course is in top condition, marketing the heck out of the Newington Fun Runs - and he's always quick to give kudos to anyone else for helping.

But have no doubt - he's the one that's been pulling this together for the last 11 years!

Thanks Jay Krusell for all you've done for us!!

THANKS to everyone who made the last fun run of this season so memorable! It's been a great ride the past 11 seasons. We will be back next summer, just in a less formal (non-race) format. Hope to see you all then. We have a special community thanks to running. I appreciate each and every one of you!!
