Last night’s tragic killings in Maine just brings out the point that we must be vigilant. The taking of and banning fi****ms and magazines will not stop such actions. Remember, the person did the killing and not the tool that was used to kill.

Now all we can do is pray for the victims and their families; we can support the survivors. As I heard the history of the shooter, existing gun laws currently ban his possession of fi****ms in some cases. Passing new laws is not the answer – enforce the laws we have. If he was convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, this is a disqualification for fi****ms possession. Admission (Commitment) to a mental health facility is a disqualification too, if adjudicated to be mentally defective is a double whammy NO for fi****ms possession! Noted issues are questions on the background check form for fi****ms purchase.

I’m not one for gun confiscation, but in this case, with the current information I have heard, it sounds like his fi****ms should have been removed to a “safe” area where he could not obtain them due to the disqualifications I have heard in the media.

This is an isolated case, so far… Don’t blame the rest of the country for one man’s actions.

Question: Where were you on 9/11/2001? I was working on the top floor of a building in Rosslyn Virginia, 2 miles from the Pentagon. Suddenly, that morning, a co-worker said – “That plane is too big to land at National!”, then the Pentagon was struck.

Please everyone: Today stop for moment, remember or learn of what happened 22 years ago today. Our nation must remain vigilant to block and prevent future attacks and loss of life. If you pray, say a prayer of remembrance for all with have died and those who are sick in body and spirit from the aftermath, include a prayer for peace, not just from the conflict, but an inner peace to not forget, but forgive and move onward. Lastly pray for each person who has, is and will serve in a capacity to protect and defend our way of life, domestically (First Responders) and overseas (Diplomatic, Military and Civilian Intelligence), for they carry our Standard, our Flag, our pledge for our rights from God. Each has given an oath to protect and defend our lives, our way of life, and the Constitutional Freedoms of the United States of America, from all enemies, Foreign and Domestic.
