Maudslay State Park is a landscaped and decorative park along the banks of the Merrimack River. It features 19th-century plants and gardens, rolling meadows, tall pines, and one of the largest naturally occurring stands of mountain laurel. The Maudslay State Park Association is a 501c3 with hundreds of members, dedicated to the preservation of this land and its unique historical and horticultural treasures.

I was asked to introduce myself, I'm Caroline, a board member for the friends group. I was an avid equestrian in the park and now an avid walker. I always took pictures of my rides or walks over the years and decided to share them here. You might have met me, I'm always happy to give directions or information or talk about Martha the turtle.

My plan for the day was turtle pictures but my knee had other plans, so I wandered gingerly through a part of the park I don't usually visit, the site of Helen's House and the area behind the formal gardens. The Peonies are looking fabulous in the formal garden. If you haven't been to the park lately, work has started on the Stone Cottage and the state is working on a new coat of paint for Ober House also known as the Park Headquarters.

While strolling the park, you might first notice the restoration of the windows and the deleading and painting of the exterior of Ober House (headquarters) - the building looks stunning.
