Passion Statement:

I do what I do because of the kids and the passion I have for coaching itself. There is no other feeling like helping young people develop their natural determination, discipline, dedication, work ethic, heart, leadership skills, connection with and RESPECT for others, not only in competition, but in life. I have coached and worked with kids for over 25 years. From coaching boys and girls in basketball, baseball, flag football and soccer to being a mentor and coach to thousands of kids throughout my life. If it involves sports, kids and fun, I'm in. We drove home to Indianapolis to surprise my mom and see my pops, who’s battling cancer right now... my mom “surprised” us when she called and said she is having open heart bypass surgery TOMORROW... Three severely clogged valves need repaired... Would appreciate any and all PRAYERS sent to my momma, Peggy, or as my girls call her, “GaGa”... I know God has got her AND my pops covered... Love my parents more than they’ll ever know, and I know they’ll pull through this...

You have such a heart for God, and it shows in how you treat everyone, including your two little sisters (who look up to you so much)... Happy Birthday Kobe Bean Bryant... This was our first true interaction, and I’ll never forget it... Listening to how passionate you were about impacting the youth, particularly girls who play basketball, made an everlasting impression on me... and you even commented on Kenley’s jumpshot, which was a cool “proud dad” moment... Your first act, on the court, made you a Legend, a Hall of Famer, and all time great... I truly believe your second act, off the court, the act of impacting youth, will change the world... Your footprint has made an impact that will love on forever... To get to actually meet you, talk with you and actually know you changed my life forever... Thank you Kobe for allowing me and my girls to be a small part of your “Larger than Life” world... I think of you several times everyday, and I will continue to think about you every day the rest of my life...

Had to up my running shoe game with all the miles I have been logging... Also had to make sure that instead of putting my “goal time” on the back of my shoe, I had to make it “02:08:24” for GiGi and Kobe... They’ve been on my mind a whole lot lately, and they both helped me through my run today... my lower right leg has been killing me, and I started to slow down this morning until something actually came over me... my leg pain had went away and my pace picked up all within a few seconds... I looked down and saw the last picture... I had run exactly “2.24” miles when my entire body got a jolt of extra energy... I hurried up and took a screen shot and then proceeded to take almost 3 minutes off my 5 mile run time from yesterday... God is Good all the time, and all the time God is Good... Thanks GiGi and Kobe... See y’all again tomorrow morning!!!

There is NOTHING I wouldn’t do for these three little pieces of my heart... Being a FATHER has been life changing, perspective building, confidence crushing & then building, and just plain FUN!!! And being a true “Girl Dad” is something I will never take lightly... Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there!!!
