OCW Modified Ice Hockey Team Tryouts are Tomorrow night, Wednesday September 17th from 7:15-8:15pm at IceTime Sports in Newburgh. This tryout is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade Coed Hockey players from the OCW territory and surrounding school districts. This 2025-2026 season will be the inaugural season for the OCW Modified Team, with a program designed to introduce players to the OCW organization, the HVHSIHA League and help prepare them for HS hockey. With a limited practice schedule and competitive league games it is a perfect way to increase time on ice and build on the foundation your in house or travel program provides. As a not for profit organization all tuition goes back into the hockey club and the development of our athletes both on and off the ice.

Tonight is the 2nd and final tryout for OCW’s JV and Varsity hockey teams for the 2025-2026 HS hockey season. The tryout will be from 7:15-8:15pm at Ice Time Sports in Newburgh.

If you intend to play this season and haven’t registered yet please do so today. Your player can’t be rostered if they havent registered.

Don’t forget that OCW JV and Varsity tryouts start tonight from 7:15-8:15pm at Ice Time Sports in Newburgh. Please register prior to coming to the rink to avoid any issues. We need USA Hockey #’s on file for insurance purposes before players step on the ice and that info is entered during registration.

If you can’t make tryouts tonight and/or next week you still need to register for tryouts so we have player info on file for rostering purposes.

ANNOUNCEMENT….

OCW Warhawks are proud to announce a big addition to our organization. We are adding a Modified Hockey Team to our program. This Modified team will be for middle school hockey players in 6th, 7th and 8th grades who live within the OCW territory of school districts. The team will practice out of Ice Time in Newburgh and will be entered into the Modified Hockey League out of Skylands Ice World in Stockholm, NJ. The season will consist of a 10 game schedule, plus playoffs and we intend to practice 2-3 times per month. Costs will be dependent on enrollment, but as a non profit organization we will do everything in our power to keep the cost to participate down.

Leading this new team will be Coaches Dean Pastena and Matt Mateer. Who both worked with our JV and practice players last season.
