Newberry College Baseball is hosting this weeks NCAA Regionals as the #2 seed! Starting Catcher Rhett Jolly had a major web blow out that I put a band aid on and got him through last three games of the regular season. That bandaid wouldn’t hold up another game so I got the glove yesterday and went to work deep cleaning it inside and out, dying the original red color, added a new palm pad with new adhesive, all new lacing all around, and Nokona conditioner got this thing back to life. should last him a long time and hopefully they win regionals and move on in the ncaa tournament!

One of our players paid for a glove I found and refurbished for her and I was paid more than I paid for it so I asked if the extra money go towards my Gift-A-Glove foundation. She chose another child on our team for that money to go towards her a new glove since her glove was literally on its last leg. I had just got a new R9 for myself and as luck would have it the store I go to a lot for used gloves had a RG2 HOH I had wanted for 3 months but wouldn’t come down on the price. They finally sold it to me for my original offer so I had two gloves. I decided to just customize my R9 for her and gift it since I wouldn’t need two gloves. I have recently tested some of my airbrushing techniques and paints to see how it would hold up on leather and it’s proven to be able to withstand any abuse thrown at it so I went all out on this glove and made it a one of a kind. let me know what you think.

Crazy transformation and restoration. Newberry College Catcher had a blow out and tore all the lace holes holding the bottom of the web. Also found the seams around the thumb pad were torn. Had to build a leather patch that doubled as a replacement for the completely eroded shock pad that it came with and the new lace holes for the web. Like a dummy I laced it up thinking I had pics of the pad and new lace holes but didn’t. After all the repairs I decided it needed some flare so I kinda went crazy with it. Turned out amazing!

Big thanks to Mackenzie Turner for allowing me to repair and restore her A2000 catchers mitt back to life. This glove tested me at every angle. The top piece of the web had two torn loops and with no availability through Wilson for that specific piece I had to cut out and sew in new cowhide leather loops. She catches for Newberry College Softball and as you can see from the before pictures she definitely used it a lot! It took over an hour of meticulously scrubbing with saddle soap to get the staining out of it. I dyed the leather back to its original black and white and even added some white lacing to the webbing area to add some flair. Hopefully she will enjoy this glove for atleast another year or two before it will need anything.

This glove was a complete overhaul. Dog had chewed up the center bar in the web so I had to hand sew and create a new one from scratch. The R logo which I found to be the hardest thing in the world to find a replacement for had to come off of a donor glove and the logo was the semi circle one and not the vintage full circle so I had to make it work which is why it’s not completely center. It was the only thing that isn’t done 100% to my liking but it turned out great. The thumb and pinky needed new plastic to straighten and support. I also had to Reinforce the inner palm due to excessive wear by sewing and gluing in cow hide. This also added some much needed padding for the palm which was paper thin. After hours upon hours of rubbing conditioner and life back into this glove it is ready for play!

Killer before and after! Glove was surprisingly in great shape once all the old lacing was removed and the leather got a bath for the first time in its life lol! Dyed the leather back to original white and a fresh complete relace using a black cowhide to give it pop!

Easy peasy! One of my own players loves this glove and even though it’s not a 300 dollar glove it is still something she’s comfortable using daily and it was in bad shape! She complained that the palm was so thin now that every ball she catches hurts her hand bad. So I took it apart and sewed in a rubber shock pad I custom made before closing back up. Sewed a patch over where she has worn out the finger rest so it’s more comfortable. Also needed a fresh relacing and a lot of conditioning. Safe to say this glove should last a few more years if she chooses to continue using it.

Finished up another A2K for a customer and it turned out amazing. Restained the leather to bring back original color tone to the leather then hand rubbed back to life with a long lasting conditioner/protectant. New laces throughout and even changed up some of the lacing colors to add some pop.
