Dear Students,
At the Core of STUDIO ORIGIN is a deep value placed on providing the very best in the art AND the SCIENCE of mindful movements, and doing so for everyone who comes thru the door. Clients who are immune compromised, who have small children in their care, and certainly clients of all ages and abilities are among the amazing clients of this bespoke studio.
After careful review of the latest in the DELTA variant, please note the change in how we do our part to keep others safe. Thank you for your patience and your understanding in this.

NEW COVID-19 RESPONSE:
In response to the latest scientific data re: viral transmission amongst those fully vaccinated, and in cooperation with the guidelines from our local, county, state, and federal recommendations:

*MASKS are NOW REQUIRED inside the studio at this time. *Mask = Properly covering the nose and mouth at all times of use. Unfortunately, bandanas, gaiters, clear shields with air gaps, or masks with exhalation valves do not meet appropriate health and safety standards.

Truly, thank you all for your help in remembering to bring/wear your mask.

#4 in the A Few of My Favorite Things series:
put them anywhere you need posture quick help! In your car roll up and place lengthwise along spine to improve car seat!

In bed, use softly rolled thin hand towel, placed under neck for support that doesn't push your head forward like pillows can.

By the "comfy" chair that is so marshmallow-like it's a wonder your spine doesn't look like a fetus when you crawl out of it! Use a towel or two to support your spine from sacrum to neck.
If you have them at each place you need support, you might just use them... I know, easy to say, but how many of you use this great customizable tool?
Forgot to put one on the bed for neck? I've literally used a rolled up T-shirt before, and my neck still thanked me for the effort.
Some clients have loved the McKenzie Neck rolls - during COVID protocols, I'd recommend using what you have at home, saving a purchase for when you could test drive fancy neck supports in person.

#2 A few of my favorite things...
upgrade your seat to support your healthy posture!
I love three options:
a) kneeling stool (new ones don't put pressure on kneecaps)
b) saddle stool (just not good for those wearing skirts)
c) stools made especially to take off tailbone pressure - you know who you are... :-)

Little moments make a BIG difference by the day's end. No matter what you choose, set your device or clock to remind you to CHANGE POSITION every hour. Stand... walk a moment... do some of those quick posture-saver Pilates moves you've learned at Studio Origin!

(these ideas all come in many price-points - it's worth shopping around and/or getting creative with what you already have!!!

#1 Get those tablets and laptops up to face level!!! Can't you just hear your neck cooing ahhhhhhh? This one adjusts from sit to stand! The PTs in my life swear by them, and so do I!
Nulaxy makes many, but there are loads of brands... there is also a simple box you can store under your desk for an instant boost!
