I say to gen pop clients all the time: the point of the work we do inside the gym is to be better outside of it. Otherwise, we’re wasting each other’s time.

Introduced my elderly neighbour to the sensory deprivation tank. Now she's my float homie. 🌊

Been hitting tanks since the olden days of inventor John Lily (neuroscientist turn psychonaut) donning his Daniel Boone hat tried to communicate with dolphins 🐬 (ayup, that's the origin story of the isolation tank).

Back in the day you'd lie essentially in the funeral pod that shot Spock 🖖 into space. These daze they've Virginia Slims it and have come along way, baby; and they be swank af. 🧘.

Feedback need not be loading per se. When I work with persons with developmental disabilities, it requires troubleshooting feedback that works for them and them alone. N of 1.

This isn't a loaded Tibial Controlled Rotational Articulation. It's simply providing enough feedback that the person receives just enough EXTERNAL feedback (the sensation of the band moving as they attempt rotational movement; with visual slack/tautness of said band during said movement, with verbal cues, etc.) to illicit enough INTERNAL reception to ideally recreate the sensation and translation of the movement (one day without external tools).

When movement patterns are defaulted (no internal production), we must - to paraphrase Jung - make the unconscious conscious otherwise such patterns will direct your life and you will call it fate.

The mighty Marshall Tully gifted me this tee back jn the dizay. Marshall introduced me to alotta thangs but most importantly he introduced me to the first gen magic bullet blender 🌪- still have it, still use it. Back then (this ain’t a eulogy; he still kicking) he was a boss coach in Ontario 🇨🇦 🏋️‍♀️.

Tully’s a G. He now tours 🎸 and follows his heart. F**k yeah 🤘.

Hung out at WTB HQ with co-owner and prez Patrick Seidler. 🚵‍♀️

We rapped about their non-profit (WTB-TAM (Transportation Alternatives for Marin)) work - in particular, developing integrated biking and pedestrian infrastructure. Got a tour of the joint. Plus, I got privy to some upcoming gear prototypes. 🤐

Incredibly generous of his time.

So rad. 🤙 🚴‍♀️

Bike nerd s**t: I always run supple WTB Horizon 650B Plus 47mm tyres on my commuter; and tried & true WTB ThickSlicks® on my roadie as well as my fixie. 🛞 🚲
