Today we did some more cleanup around 12b and worked on moving 11S tee to a better route.

We've come a long way in 50 Years! I remember seeing 4x4 posts pop up at my childhood park with a 3' red center that you hit with a disc. Baskets followed a few years later.

Porous Pave will be on-site in the coming week or two installing more tee pads! Please do not disturb any prepared pads on the course to ensure a smooth installation.

We are adding wayfinding to the confusing areas of the course. 11, 12, and 13 were done today with signs for 4, 7, 8 and 18 coming soon! Enjoy the course!

Wayfinding phase 1 of 3 is happening today. We are installing directional arrows below all of the baskets to help everyone move through the course in the correct direction. Phase 2 will happen in a few weeks and consist of installing arrows in confusing areas like holes 7, 11, 12, 13, and 18.

We are so excited to announce our new Course Sponsor Porous Pave from Grant MI, who are sponsoring Hole 1. The Porous Pave team was there today installing their Porous Pave surfacing that will be used as the tee pads for the blue and red tees.

We are so thankful for their sponsorship and hope everyone enjoys the new Porous Pave tee pads on hole 1 that will be open for use tomorrow afternoon.

Porous Pave is made primarily of recycled truck tires, aggregate, and binder. The material is permiable to liquids and slip resistant. Check it out next time you are at the course.

Newaygo County Parks & Recreation Maintenance Crew finished clearing off the course today, thanks to Tom, Ron and Nick. Most of the course is in good shape with a few wet spots where down timber was placed to help cross. The plan for 2024 is to add wayfinding signs and install the final footbridges. Moving on later this summer we will finalize tee locations and start on tee pads. You will see on hole 1 that a base has been set for the first two tee pads by the City of Newaygo Crews. Feel free to play from the compacted gravel for now until the surface material is installed. Stay tuned for a big announcement about hole 1 coming soon!

Beautiful day to play a round of Disc Golf! In other news, Park Staff will be completing the spring cleanup on the course next week, and looking to make some more courses upgrades soon after.

Course maintenance doesn't end in the Fall/Winter. Newaygo County Parks & Recreation Staff were out today cleaning out the trail drains on holes 1, 5 and 18. Two benches were upcycled from the Newaygo County Commission on Aging and placed at hole 9 red and blue tees. They were also able to plant grass seed on holes 8, 9, 10 and 15! Get out and enjoy this beautiful weather!
