Den of Lions Soccer Club, an official Sporting CP Academy Affiliate, is proud to offer our FREE Little Cubs Summer Program for young players looking to learn, develop, and enjoy the game in a positive and professional environment.

Our program is designed to introduce players to the fundamentals of soccer while fostering confidence, teamwork, discipline, and a lifelong passion for the sport. Sessions are led by experienced coaches committed to creating a fun, safe, and development-focused experience for every participant.

Whether your child is taking their first steps in soccer or looking to continue developing their skills, the Little Cubs Program provides the perfect opportunity to grow both on and off the field.

Welcome Back, Sporting CP Coaches!

We are proud to welcome back three outstanding coaches from Sporting Clube de Portugal for our 2026 Sporting CP International Camp!

⚽ Gonçalo Teixeira – Goalkeeper Coach with a degree in Physical Education and Sports from Instituto Piaget in Almada. Since joining Sporting CP in 2020, Gonçalo has helped develop goalkeepers through the club’s renowned methodology and professional training environment.

⚽ Rúben Godinho – A Physical Education and Sports graduate with a specialization in Sports Training from Universidade Lusófona. Since joining Sporting CP in 2023, Rúben has brought passion, knowledge, and a strong commitment to player development.

⚽ Diogo Valente – Holding a degree in Physical Education and Sports with a specialization in Sports Training, as well as a UEFA B Coaching License, Diogo has been part of Sporting CP since 2020 and continues to make a significant impact in developing young athletes.

Their expertise, professionalism, and commitment to excellence make this camp an incredible opportunity for players to learn directly from coaches representing one of the world’s most respected football academies.

We are excited to welcome Gonçalo, Rúben, and Diogo back to Newark and look forward to another unforgettable week of learning, development, and passion for the game!

Meet Coach Gabriel Morocho:

Gabriel Morocho serves as Head Coach for the 2012 Ravens and 2011 Vikings at Den of Lions Soccer Club, bringing passion, energy, and a strong commitment to player development.

Holding a USSF D License, Gabriel’s journey into coaching began from his own love for the game. As a player, soccer became his passion, and that passion naturally evolved into a desire to help young athletes enjoy the game while developing their skills.

For Gabriel, success is not defined by a single moment, but by the collective achievements of his players. He takes pride in every victory earned through hard work, dedication, and perseverance—valuing the growth and effort behind each accomplishment.

He describes his coaching style as more than just skill development—it’s about building character, competing with intelligence, and fostering a mindset of continuous learning. Gabriel creates an environment where players are challenged to grow both as athletes and as individuals.

His primary goal is to create a family-like atmosphere within his teams, where players support one another, push each other daily, and grow in a positive direction. He emphasizes guiding players toward making good decisions both on and off the field.

Gabriel instills values such as humility, resilience, and respect—teaching players the importance of overcoming setbacks, learning from challenges, and continuing to push forward with the right mindset.

Meet Coach Bobby Rodrigues:

Bobby Rodrigues serves as Head Coach of the Elite 2013 (U13) team at Den of Lions Soccer Club, bringing passion, energy, and a strong commitment to player development.

With a Grassroots Coaching License, Bobby’s journey into coaching is driven by his love for the game. His passion for soccer fuels his dedication to helping young athletes grow, improve, and enjoy the sport.

For Bobby, success is measured through player development—seeing his athletes progress, improve, and reach new levels in their game is his greatest achievement.

He describes his coaching style as passionate, creating an environment where players are motivated, engaged, and encouraged to give their best every day. His sessions focus on continuous improvement while building confidence and love for the game.

His main goal is to support the ongoing growth of his players, both on and off the field, helping them develop into better athletes and individuals. Bobby emphasizes the importance of hard work, instilling the mindset that dedication and effort lead to success.

Meet College Coordinator Bruno Ferreira:

Bruno Ferreira serves as the College Coordinator at Den of Lions Soccer Club, bringing high-level experience, leadership, and a strong commitment to player development both on and off the field.

Holding a USSF B License, Bruno’s coaching journey is driven by his passion for teaching the game he loves and helping players reach their full potential. His experience at the collegiate level, including reaching the National Championship Finals, reflects his ability to develop players in competitive environments.

Bruno describes his coaching style as intense, competitive, and demanding—setting high standards while pushing players to continuously improve. His approach emphasizes daily growth, ensuring that players strive to become better in every aspect of the game.

In his role as College Coordinator, Bruno focuses on preparing players for the next level by guiding their development, supporting their pathway to college soccer, and helping them understand what it takes to succeed beyond the club environment.

He instills core values such as teamwork, discipline, attention to detail, availability, and versatility—key traits that translate both on the field and in life.

Meet Coach Christopher Daly:

Christopher Daly represents what Den of Lions is all about—commitment, growth, and giving back. Having been part of the game since the age of five, and growing up within the club, his journey has come full circle as he now helps develop the next generation.

Holding coaching experience in both 7v7 and 11v11 formats, Christopher focuses on building players through discipline and hard work. His philosophy is simple: those two foundations unlock everything else within the game and in life.

For Christopher, success is not measured by trophies, but by transformation. His greatest achievement as a coach is seeing players come in with raw potential and leave with confidence, discipline, and a true love for the game.

His goal is to ensure every player leaves each session better than they arrived—not just as soccer players, but as individuals. He emphasizes accountability, commitment, and consistency, helping shape players into better people both on and off the field.

What makes Den of Lions special to Christopher is the community behind it. Having grown up in the program and now coaching within it, he embodies the club’s culture of loyalty and family—something that can’t be replicated, only experienced.
