Today marks one year since we cut the ribbon to Preston's Playground.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

So many smiles. So many memories.

It was a wonderful day on November 19th 2018 for the ribbon cutting of Preston's Playground.

Over 200 people attended the ceremony followed but close to 100 children running, smiling, and enjoying the simple pleasure of play.

Have you been to the playground lately?

We have decided to turn the bricks you purchased into a bench where people can sit and enjoy watching their children play.

Be on the lookout in the next couple of weeks for the completion of it.

We dreamed about this day for three years and today's grand opening was just as magical as we imagined! Seeing those happy, smiling faces on the playground this morning proves what we already knew - everyone deserves the chance to play. Preston's Playground was created 100 percent by, with and for the community, from the people who hatched the idea of building this space (Nic DeCaire and Deb Markley Buenaga) to the leaders from the City of Newark, Delaware who have financially supported it to the employees of Newark Parks & Recreation who literally brought it to life with their hard work. And of course, we wouldn't be here it all if not for the thousands of people who donated to our many, many, many fundraisers. THANK YOU all for your amazing support. Here's to the power of play!

What a day to (almost) play! Thanks so much to everyone who came out to Preston’s Playground to help clean up and get ready for our Nov. 19 opening. From start to finish, this has been a community effort and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
